Crystal Celestine (1997)
Crystal Celestine was a member of the Ladycat softball team, as well as the basketball and track teams while at Abbeville High School. She played centerfield during her senior year at AHS after spending two years as the Ladycats' shortstop. Crystal was an all-district and all-parish selection in softball. In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Crystal was selected to Who's Who Among High School Students and maintained a 3.0 GPA.
At McNeese, Celestine originally was a member of the track squad. After one year, however, she decided to return to the diamond to continue her softball career. In her first season with the Cowgirls she played in 38 games in the outfield. She had 82 at-bats in her first season, collecting 16 hits and one RBI. She also scored 15 runs and ended her freshman season at MSU with a .195 batting average. Additionally, Crystal had a .951 fielding percentage after recording 58 putouts and only three errors.
Crystal is majoring in Family and Child Studies at McNeese.
