Home of the Ladycats!!!

For the first time ever, the Ladycat softball team has a place to call home! Pictures of the new field, which can be seen below, are arranged chronologically to illustrate the work that has been done. The Ladycats would like to give a special THANK YOU to the AHS ATHLETIC BOOSTERS for their contributions to the construction of the new field.

The winter ryegrass is growing in nicely and the skinned infield surface is as nice as any in the Acadiana area. Photo taken on November 10, 2000.

A view of the outfield fence from home plate. This photo was taken on August 24, 2000.

The outfield fence is shown here. Notice that sand also had to be added in the outfield to fill in some low spots.

Construction of the wooden outfield fence began in mid-July.

After the sand was incorporated, the infield was leveled.

LOTS of sand was added to the infield and then incorporated into the existing soil

The first work on the field included tilling the infield for the first time.

This photo shows the field before work began.
