*Chapter 5*

One night a few months later Ali was sitting in her dorm room studying for finals when the phone rang and it was Justin. "Ali, can you come over?" he asked. Ali noticed he sounded weird. "Okay, what's wrong?" she asked. "Nothing, can you just come over?" he replied. "Yeah, sure. I'll be over in a few minutes," she said.

Ali went over to Justin's and when he answered the door she noticed how cute he looked in his black Nike shorts and baby blue North Carolina shirt. He looked like he hadn't slept for days with big bags under his eyes, but she didn't think anything of it because alot of people look like that around finals time. They just watched tv for awhile, and Ali couldn't help but notice something was bothering Justin. Hoping to cheer him up, she looked up at him. "I love you, Justin. You make me so happy and I can't believe how lucky I am to have you. I love you so much," she said smiling. Her smile faded when she noticed Justin didn't even respond to what she had just said, he just sat there. "Ali, I don't think we should be together anymore," he said simply. Ali couldn't believe what she had just heard. "What?" she asked in disbelief. "I need to be free, Ali. I just want to go out and have fun on tour this summer. I don't want any worries, and I don't want to be tied down." Now Ali just sat there and didn't say anything but she began to cry. "So you're saying it's over? Just like that?" she said in-between tears. "Yes, I'm sorry Ali, I didn't want it to be this way. But I need to be free," Justin answered, he couldn't even look her in the eye. "Okay," was all she could say right before she walked out the door and out of Justin's life.

Justin couldn't believe what he had just done, but he knew in his heart he had to do it. He still loved Ali more than anything, but he felt like he was missing out on something, and he needed to find it to make himself happy again. He just needed to be alone for awhile to figure out what he really wanted in life. He hated hurting Ali, and he wished he could explain it all to her, but he just couldn't.
