“Of course I’m excited to see Lance, I-” Julia said before Morgan cut her off again, “No, not Lance, JC! Are you excited to see JC?!” Julia sighed dreamily as she thought of seeing JC again, “Yeah,” she replied. “Oh I know you’re over there just daydreaming about him as I speak. Is he still dating Rain, or whatever her name is?”
Julia sighed again as she thought of JC’s girlfriend, Rey. He’d been dating her for awhile now. She was tall and skinny with long, dark hair and she was gorgeous. She’d always been nice to Julia, but it seemed like she had ulterior motives for being with JC. “Her name’s Rey, and yeah he’s still dating her,” Julia said sadly. “Rey? What the hell kind of name is that?! What were her parents smoking?” Morgan exclaimed and Julia laughed a little at her. “I don’t know, and I don’t know what he sees in her. He always told me he liked smart girls, and she’s almost 27 and still in college!” Julia exclaimed. “She’s gorgeous, that’s what he sees in her,” Morgan replied. “Yeah, I guess so,” Julia said sadly.
“Well I’ve got to get going, I’ve got to take a shower before the guys get here,” Julia said changing the subject. “You’ve gotta primp for JC,” Morgan said with a laugh. “Yeah, that too,” Julia replied, “I’ll call you tomorrow,” she said before hanging up and heading up to her room.
Julia put the cordless phone back in its charger before walking over to the closet to decide what to wear. “They’re just coming over here to say hi, then they’ll probably leave right away,” she thought to herself as she pulled out a red tank top and a pair of dark blue flare jeans. She set them on the bed and went over to the dresser. She stopped and looked at herself in her mirror for a minute.
She was a little short, only 5’4”, and she had a small, petite frame. She had the same bright green eyes as Lance and her hair was only a little darker shade of blonde than his. Her hair rested right above her shoulders in cute layers. Some days she’d flip the ends out, and other days she’d curl them under, it just depended on her mood for the day. She was definetly cute, but not anything gorgeous, and not anything that would ever catch JC’s eye.
Julia sighed as she looked at her reflection before going to the bathroom to take a shower.
*************
After her shower Julia was feeling a little better. She got dressed and blow-dried her hair and flipped the ends out as they fell a little past her chin. She put on some powder, blush, mascara, and lip gloss; she’d never liked to wear alot of makeup. She straightened up the bathroom and her bedroom before spraying on some perfume and going back down to the living room to wait for the guys.
After watching a rerun of the Real World she heard the front door open slowly. She jumped up off the couch and ran to the front hallway. She got there just as Lance was walking in. He dropped his bags at his sides right before she jumped into his arms and he hugged her tightly. “I missed you so much, Jules,” he whispered into her hair as he hugged her. “I missed you too, James,” she said, using the nickname she’d made up for him a long time ago. “It IS your real name, you know,” she had reasoned with him when he had questioned it.
Chris, Joey, Justin, and JC all stood in the doorway and watched the display in front of them and couldn’t help but smile. Julia and Lance had become extremely close ever since he joined the group and everyone always loved seeing them together. A minute later Lance put her down and Joey scooped her up into his arms right away, “Hey Julia, how ya been?” he asked. “I’ve been good, and you?” she asked. “Great as ever,” he said with a grin. Julia had always loved his positive attitude about everything.
“Hey Shorty,” Chris said walking up to her. “Who you callin’ Shorty?” she retorted. He grinned at her and hugged her tightly; she’d always hated being called Shorty. That’s why he always did it.
Next Justin walked up to her, “Hey Jewel,” he said softly, hugging her. She and Justin had always been pretty good friends because they were so close in age. Whenever he had a problem that the other guys couldn’t understand he’d always go to her for help. “Hey Justy,” she whispered into his neck as he lifted her off her feet while he hugged her. He started tickling her sides lightly and she slapped his shoulders and squealed, “Put me down!” He laughed at her and set her down.
The guys walked into the kitchen to get a drink, all except JC. Julia looked up at him expectantly and felt the same butterflies when she met him so long ago. He had on a pair of dark blue jeans and a simple white t-shirt, and his hair was spiked up the way she’d always liked it. She’d never seen him look better. She smiled a half smile at him shyly. He smiled back at her, “Come here, you,” he said holding his arms out to her. Her smile got brighter as she stepped forward and fell into his arms. She rested her head against his chest as his arms wrapped around her small frame tightly. She closed her eyes and breathed in the scent of his cologne as she felt a rush of warmth all over her body as he held her.
“I missed you, little Jules,” he whispered and Julia’s heart sank as he used the nickname he gave her when she was only 13. “I’m still just little Jules to him, and I always will be,” she thought to herself sadly. “I missed you too, Joshy,” she managed to whisper back. He pulled out of the hug slowly and held onto her shoulders and stood back and looked at her, “You’re turning into quite a beautiful girl, Jules, I’m sure you’re breaking alot of hearts,” he said with a grin and she blushed slightly. “I try not to,” she said quietly. He leaned forward again and placed a soft kiss on her forehead. Julia’s breath caught in her throat and she held her breath the whole time his soft lips touched her skin. He draped an arm around her shoulder and led her into the kitchen to find the rest of the guys.
