Welcome to the Archive!

OK, OK, I haven't updated in forever, I know, but things came up. I'm sure you all understand and will be strong for me. Thank you for your co-operation.

This is my movie archive. In this area, I will rate and summerize the movies I have seen recently, as well as others that I feel are worth mentioning (This includes movies on home video). If I fall behind, please be forgiving; I live in the middle of nowhere, and we don't get many new releases. Anyway, here is this week's movie:

Moulin Rouge (PG-13) Starring Ewan McGregor, Nicole Kidman, John Leguizamo.

WOW! A modern musical!? I must be dreaming! No, really. The feel of this movie is like one long, absinthe-soaked trip. And I loved it. There's no real way to describe it, because there is nothing to compare it to. Any movie that has the balls to put ''Smells Like Teen Spirit'' in a 1899 brothel scene has my vote for a great movie. Nicole does great; she's beautiful, tough and fragile ( a hard combo), and I really, really loved Ewan. Wide eyed but not cloying. And he can really sing. Favorite numbers include ''Like a Virgin'' (yes, you heard me), the montage on the Elephant, and especially ''Roxanne'' with the creepy tango and Ewan's contrasting melody. Wow again! $$$$$
