You walked gently into my life And I was never quite the same. Your light in my life is a treasure, A bright blazing flame. Your infectious smile and spirit Have changed me through and through. Because of your belief in me I'm making my dreams come true. I admire and respect you For your tremendous strength of will. A profound sense of security In me you do instill. My passion for you burns steadily And it remains everlasting. Our time together I hold dear to my heart For your love is a gracious blessing. Our life together not yet begun I dream of all to come. You have been the love of my life But the best is yet to come. It is my promise and it is my hope That I can give to you As much as you give to me Our whole life through. |
Mom had not seen her there when she pulled out So the poor dog was dragged a mile, no doubt, Tied to the bumper of the old blue chevy, That was Daddy's idea, so we made him the heavy. She had some scrapes and was tamer for awhile, Still Daddy was there to make us all smile. The little grey kitten had snuck under the chair, But Mom had not seen him go under there. So when she got up, a recliner it had been, Snapped the kitten's neck, being thin as a pin. We were not there, we were at school But Daddy was there to clean up the drool. Mom is not good with pets, so you see, But she's a comfort to children, you and me. For I use to climb up in the big bed with her And snuggle up close and feel safe and secure. She'd sleep with her arms around me till dawn Just for those times when Daddy was gone. |
Heaven glows brighter now As it regains your joyful and jubilant spirit. Alas, our world below seems darker, So we search for a hint of you. In the light wind that kisses our faces, We search - In the sweet voice of a songbird, We search - In the glorious hues of a sunset, We search - As I hear the soft laughter of a child, I pause - For in the sweet sounds of children, We find you - In the comforting touch of family and friends, We find you - In the sparkle of each others' eyes, We find you - Through the grace of God We hold you in our hearts. Until we meet again, Grandmother, You remain our bright and morning star. |
