Broken Vows

Vows were broken, the love diminished.
I guess you would say we are finished.

I still wear your ring, it gleams in the light
You told me you weren't going to give up
without a good fight. 

But here we are, once together now apart
Forcing me to build a fresh start.

Your side of the bed is empty, I miss your face
My dreams tell me you are in a far off place.

Why did this happen? How could your feelings 
change? You were my fire, my love, and I was 
left with all the blame. 

Our home was torn apart with so many things 
broken that can never be mended.
Our pictures you tore of that special day frozen 
in time shows me that your heart is blind.

People can be cruel and mean. Its very true
that you will always hurt the ones you love the 
most. I wish you could have known me, I only 
wish you could have seen. 

My heart aches for you, but I know I am better 
off. You didn't believe in me, you didn't give 
me credit. You are the only one that will suffer
the loss.
