The moon rose into the night sky casting
a pale light over the sleeping city. A stranger appeared in a dark
alley, shivering slightly from cold. With a brief flash of light
the cold disappeared, looking at the tattered rags she was wearing she
waved a delicate hand and in there place a pair of black jeans and a dark
red sweatshirt appear. On her bare feet a pair of red socks and a
pair of black runners materialized. She had a purpose. Enough
done with her appearance she walked out of the ally and down the dimly
lite street, keeping her mission in mind.

Lexington laughed as Bronx bounded
up to him, knocking him to the ground and slobbering all over his face.
"Hey, cut it out Bronx." He choked out as he pushed the animal off
him.
"I think ee wants to go for a walk,
lad."
Lexington smiled as he looked at Hudson.
"I'd be glad to take him but he's too heavy for me to carry."
"Not if Broadway and I come with you."
Brooklyn added as he offered Lexington a hand up.
The smaller Gargoyle accepted and
his rookery brother hauled him to his feet. "Sounds good. Except,
who goes on patrol if all of us are walking Bronx?"
Golaith put a large hand on his old
mentor's shoulder. "Are you up to a little flying tonight, my friend?"
Hudson grinned, "Aye and some action, should it come
our way." He played with the hilt of his sword to illustrate his
point.
Goliath nodded before turning to the
trio. "Be back well before sunset and keep your eyes open in case
of trouble. Don't let any Humans see you if that's at all possible."
Broadway's eyebrow rose, "Do you think
we have enough time to get something to eat?"

The girl walked with descisive steps
along the pavement. She could sense the evil wizard's powers were
getting stronger. He would soon strike. And come 'hell' or
high water she was going to be there to stop him. Messing with the
timeline was a horrible thing but trying to alter a timeline in another
dimension couldn't be allowed. Being a Guardian, it was her duty
to set it straight but she wasn't sure she was strong enough.

"Come on Lex. Toss the stick
to me. We'll see if Bronx can intercept the pass." Brooklyn
shouted from his spot across the grassy field.
Lexington pulled back his arm but
before he could release the branch something grabbed onto his hand like
a vise. A voice whispered in his ear,"So, we meet again Flyx."
Yanking his arm out of the grasp Lexington turned to
face the person who'd grabbed him. His jaw dropped when he turned
and saw Goliath there, only it wasn't Goliath. He was still the same
physically except for an eyepatch over his right eye but he had an evil
feel to him that seemed to turn the air around him to ice.
"Goliath..." Broadway, Brooklyn and
Bronx came running up to them, but befor Lex could warn them away the Goliath
look-a-like turned to glare at them. They stopped in their tracks
before flying twenty feet backwards and smashing hard into the ground.
Lexington's eyes grew wide, "Magic..."
"Axel, don't move."
The green Gargoyle looked up to see
a young human 'girl'. Her short blong hair, giving her face an impish
quality. Her black and red outfit making her look like a street punk,
a very unusual contrast.
"Ah, Sita. I was wondering just
how long it would take you to show up." The evil Gargoyle said nonchantedly,
smiling a syrup like smile at her.
"Do you really want to fight here,
Axel? You know you'll loose, hands down. You need time to recharge."
The young 'girl', Sita, challenged placing both of her hands on her hips.
Behind him, Axel growled and Lexington
heard an audible pop. When he next looked behind him, Axel was gone.
Sita approached him with the agility of a cat and he felt his muscles tense
defensively. Until she smiled, "Don't worry Flyx. I won't hurt
you."
Puzzeled Lexington looked over at
his friends, glad to see they were getting up, "Why did you and... Axel
call me Flyx? My name is Lexington."
Sita's smile vanished and she stared
at him with eyes too old for the youth of her 'body'. "That's not
important right now. Right now, you and your rookery brothers must
head back to the castle. From now on you and your clan must stay
there if you wish to be safe." She turned and began to walk away.
"Sita, wait!"
She stopped and stared at him.
"I will come again, when you are in need, but for now heed my warning."
Then in a puff of bluish smoke she was gone.
