Lance knocked on the door to
Sai’s room and waited a short while before the door opened and his jaw
nearly hit the floor. He’d never have thought that the quiet boy
would or could turn into the person before him.
A tight black t-shirt with a
gold chain and a pair of ivory leather pants with black loafers had replaced
his more casual clothing. The pants were just as tight as his shirt,
definitely not what Lance would have pictured him in.
Absently he stepped into the
room, all he had to wear was his flight suit so he felt pretty underdressed.
Sai must have read his thoughts from his facial expression because the
gentle, brown-haired young man smiled. “Don’t worry Lance.
We’re going to go shopping first, it would look really out of place if
you went in your flight suit.”
There was another light tap
on the door and Sai opened it. Sage was in black jeans and a long-sleeved,
green, silk shirt. Even in jeans the blond managed to embody the
word elegant. Once more Lance was struck speechless.
Sage looked him up and down
before shaking his head and speaking off handedly to Sai. “We have
to take him shopping.”
For some reason Lance couldn’t
help but grin at Sai mischievously. “Maybe you’re right. Maybe
we do have a lot in common.”
……………………….
Sai handed Lance a pair of black
leather pants along with a red, button up silk shirt. The pilot gave
him a skeptical look. “This isn’t my usual style.”
“Afraid to show a little bit
more of yourself?” Sage asked from where he leaned against a wall,
arms crossed over his chest in a form of defiance.
Lance shook his head and Sai
had trouble hiding his smirk especially after Lance spoke, “I’m not afraid,
I just don’t like feeling as if I’m a piece of meat.”
Sage’s eyebrow rose to his hairline.
“That’s not the way your friend’s talk.”
Something almost dark crossed
Lance’s face. “Ya, well not many people know what I feel.”
As Sai watched him go into the
change room he felt for his link to Sage. **Did you notice that?**
**Yes. It seems to me
that he hides much.**
Still looking at the door of
the dressing room Sai spoke softly, “So do we. Out of all of us,
we; the three of us have secrets we fear sharing.”
………………………..
Sage shook his blond head as
he saw the young store clerk stare unabashedly at Lance as he came out
of the dressing room. Even he had to admit it was a change.
Lance moved as if he’d worn cloths as tight as those all his life.
The red silk shirt was untucked and the first two buttons were undone.
His slightly long brown hair was slightly messed giving him a rogue appearance.
Next to him he heard Sai move,
tossing something at Lance. Without looking up Lance caught it and
as he looked at it he grinned, slipping the black leather jacket on, “THIS
is more my style.”
Out of the corner of his eye
Sage could have sworn he saw the girl swoon, drooling all the while, and
Sage was thankful his sister wasn’t there to gawk as well.
………………………..
Sai paid for his cloths and
Lance promised to make it up to him but he’d just smiled and told him to
forget about it. But Lance promised himself he’d make it up to the
older boy.
He wasn’t sure where he was
going but he wondered if Sai realized he didn’t have an ID or that he was
only sixteen. Sure everyone except Keith and sven thought he was
eighteen but it was the principle of the thing…
His jaw went slack when they
stopped in front of an exclusive club about 11:30. The Bouncer on
duty and Sai spoke a moment acting like old friends and the well-muscled
man waved them ahead of the waiting line and inside making Lance wonder
how often Sai came to the Bar.
