The troop 7 Annual Jambalaya Fundraiser was held on Wednesday, October 3. Our scouts and parents sold over 3900 plates of jambalaya. The average number sold per scout was 67 plates! Donations and discounts were numerous, as were the large orders from local businesses. The fundraiser committee outdid themselves and are to be given a great pat on the back.
The proceeds will be used for the following:
Each scout will get $x to attend a summer camp in 2003 including Camp Comer and Sea Base
Purchase new equipment
Build new patrol boxes
Purchase a new troop trailer
Outfit new patrol boxes
The success of our fundraiser can be contributed to several factors:
1) Our scouts hit the pavement and pre-sold tickets for the
fundraiser
2) Outstanding parental involvement. We had enough workers to man 3 serving
lines for the lunch rush. This
allowed us to prepare the large orders at the times requested.
3) The St. Aloysius community supported us like never before.
4) Changes in the Monday night preparation made that process
better than ever.
5) Outstanding organization by fundraiser committee.
