    • Joel Sellentine was named all state (class B) in the 4x800m relay. Joel's split of 2:00.1 helped Brandon set a school record 8:06.7 in this race. Joel was also All-County, All-League and All-Region in the 4x800. He was the freshman Oakland County Champion in the 800m, and 1600m.

    • Brandon went to the state meet again but blew up and ran an 8:15. Joel was All-County, All-League and All-Region in the 4x800.

    Junior at Brandon High

    • Joel was the 1996 class B state champion in the 800m, as a Junior. Joel also won regionals, league, and placed 3rd at Oakland County in the 800m.

    Senior at Brandon High

    • Joel was named all state in the Michigan Indoor State Meet (all class), with a 5th place finish in the 600m. He also traveled to Boston and ran the National Scholastic Indoor Track meet in the 800, he ran a 1:58.5 and was 16th overall. In outdoors Joel won Regionals, League and the Oakland County meet in the 800m. He was also All-League in the 400m dash. Joel place a disapointing 6th at the State meet.

    • After being unable to run cross country because of a fainting spell in the second race. Although Joel struggled with the high mileage and speed of University running, he was still managed to be on the school record breaking 4x800m (7:52), and Distance Medley (10:07) relay teams indoors.
