ONE DAY

IF YOU COULD CHOOSE ONE SPECIAL DAY,

TO VISIT FROM THE PAST.

ONE DAY FROM OUR LONG HISTORY,

FROM DAY ONE TO THE LAST.

MANY DAYS MUST CALL TO YOU,

SO MUCH THE LORD HAS DONE.

I KNOW IT'S HARD TO MAKE A CHOICE,

BUT YOU MUST CHOOSE JUST ONE.

PERHAPS YOU'D CHOOSE A STARLIT NIGHT,

A WITNESS YOU WOULD BE.

TO SEE THE CHILD THE FATHER SENT,

THAT CHANGED OUR DESTINY

STANDING WITH THE SHEPHERDS THERE,

YOU'D LOOK WITH WONDER ON

THAT BABE UPON HIS BED OF STRAW

THE FATHER'S BLESSED SON.

OR BY THE SEA OF GALILEE

WITH FOUR FISHERMEN.

THE DAY THEY HEARD THE SAVIOR'S CALL,

TO COME AND FOLLOW HIM.

A VISIT TO THAT ROCKY TOMB,

WHERE JESUS' FRIEND WAS LAID.

"COME FORTH!", WOULD BE THE WORDS YOU'D HEAR,

WHEN LAZARUS WAS RAISED.

THE TEMPLE COURT, A CHILLY NIGHT,

A CROWDED FIRESIDE.

TO STAND WITH PETER AS HE WEPT,

WHEN JESUS HE DENIED.

COULD YOU, WOULD YOU, HAVE THE NERVE,

TO GO TO CALVARY.

AND SEE HIM HANGING ON THE CROSS,

DYING ON THAT TREE.

DO YOU THINK YOUR HEART COULD STAND,

OH, COULD YOU REALLY BEAR.

TO KNOW AS HE WAS WRACKED WITH PAIN,

YOUR SINS HAD NAILED HIM THERE.

PERHAPS YOU'D CHOOSE A SUNDAY DAWN,

JUST BEFORE THE BREAK OF DAY.

TO BE THE ONLY WITNESS AS

THE STONE WAS ROLLED AWAY.

TO STAND THERE ON THAT QUIET MORN'

AS MARY CAME IN TEARS.

TO SEE THE ANGEL MEET HER THERE,

AND SAY, "HE IS NOT HERE."

A LOCKED AND FEAR FILLED UPPER ROOM,

TO SEE DISCIPLES CHEERED.

THEIR GRIEF AND PAIN TRANSFORMED TO JOY,

WHEN JESUS FIRST APPEARED.

WELL NOW IT'S TIME TO MAKE YOUR CHOICE.

COME ON, WHAT WILL IT BE?

ONE OF THESE OR SOMETHING ELSE.

WHAT DO YOU LONG TO SEE?

WHAT'S MY CHOICE YOU WANT TO KNOW.

MY DAY HAS NOT YET COME

BUT I'LL TELL YOU THIS MY FRIEND,

'TWILL BE A BLESSED ONE.

I'M WAITING FOR THAT TRUMPET'S CALL.

TO HEAR THE ANGELS' SHOUT.

TO SEE HIM COMING IN THE CLOUDS,

THAT'S IT WITHOUT A DOUBT.

ONE DAY WITH JESUS JUST WON'T DO,

'TAINT NEAR ENOUGH FOR ME.

I'LL WAIT TO SEE HIM ON THAT DAY,

THAT STARTS ETERNITY
