If you're looking for a place to unwind on Merdeka Eve, mosey on down to Centrepoint Pub and watch the Flower Power guys, Alex and Viji, give their final performance before they go on a long break.
According to Alex Peters, the duo plans to take a three-month holiday before reconvening their stint at the pub, which is situated along Jalan Kasah, Medan Damansra.
For the past two years now, Flower Power has been entertaining at Centrepoint with a repertoire drawn largely from the 60s and 70s - The Beatles, CCR, Santana, Shocking Blue, Manfred Man, the Rolling Stones and the likes.
After Sunday night, Viji will be heading off to India for a short holiday and Alex will resume work on his solo album. He says that he is "gaining momentum" with that long-awaited project and hopes to devote the next two months solely on it.
According to Alex, the duo will eventually team up again at the end of the year, in time to commemorate Lennon's death anniversary on December 8, an annual affair at the pub.
