Pleasant Hill, Sabine Parish, Louisiana

Please do take your time and visit the links on this page. They are all related to Northwest Louisiana, where I spent the majority of my childhood. The food is good and time seems to move a little slower. I hope you will enjoy my perceptions of "home."

First things must come first. One must eat well in the South. Therefore, it would simply be unacceptable to attempt to live here unless one can make biscuits, chicken and dumplings, tea cakes, and divinity. Those recipes can be found on this recipe link. Others will be added as age brings them back into my memory.

Pleasant Hill may be small, but it has traditionally placed great value on education. Please visit the impressive web pages of Pleasant Hill High School. My father graduated from this school and two of the excellent teachers are members of our family today.

For information about the history of Pleasant Hill and the annual reenactment of the Battle of Pleasant Hill, Frank Dutton's Sabine Parish pages are the best place to begin.
