My Administration remains committed to ensuring that the more than 54 million Americans with disabilities learn and develop skills, find meaningful work, and realize the promises of the Americans with Disabilities Act. To achieve equality of opportunity, independent living, and economic self-sufficiency, last year I announced the New Freedom Initiative, a comprehensive plan that promotes the full participation of people with disabilities in all aspects of American life.

Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund
a national law and policy center dedicated to protecting and advancing the civil rights of people with disabilities through legislation, litigation, advocacy, technical assistance, and education and training of attorneys, advocates, persons with disabilities, and parents of children with disabilities.
This organization can provide you with legal representation and act as co-councel
in cases of diability based of discrimination.
Disability Insurance Benefits (DIB)
To qualify for benefits, you must first have worked in jobs covered by Social Security. Then you must have a medical condition that meets Social Security's definition of disability. In general, we pay monthly cash benefits to people who are unable to work for a year or more because of a disability.
Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
It is designed to help aged, blind, and disabled people, who have little or no income; and It provides cash to meet basic needs for food, clothing, and shelter.

Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR)
What OVR can provide for the diasbled:
- Grant money for job training or education
- Acts as emplyoment agency to help find a job or help
in providing needed disability equipment for your job, needed trasportation,
mobility equipment or any other help to be able to work at your job.
- Pay for or help in paying for any treatments or testing.

The Ticket Program
The Ticket to Work and Self-Sufficiency Program is an employment program for people with disabilities who are interested in going to work.
