Tennessee Food Banks
Six food banks serve the 95 counties of the State of Tennessee.

Food Stamp Hotline:

Help line to answer questions regarding application,
receipt, or use of Food Stamp benefits. The Food
Stamp program is a federally-funded, state administered
program that strengthens the food purchasing power of
low income individuals and families.

Families First Hotline:

Help line to answer questions regarding Families
First which is Tennessee's new welfare reform program
which replaced the Aid to Families with Dependent Children
(AFDC) program. Families First is a temporary cash
assistance program which emphasizes work, training,
and personal responsibility.

Food Stamp Fraud:

To report persons who are receiving federal assistance
illegally, using food stamps for profit, or using someone
else's food stamps. It is a felony to misrepresent or give
incomplete information to receive benefits.

TennCare Information:

Features a detailed memo of options for individuals
who need to enroll in the TennCare health plan, who
need help in medical service delivery, want to report a
change in circumstances, and/or want to report problems
in TennCare coverage. The TennCare program is a federally-
funded, state administered health insurance plan providing
health services to Medicaid eligible individuals and the
uninsured/uninsurable population of Tennessee.

QMB (Qualified Medicare Beneficiary Hotline):

For information about eligibility for QMB/SLMB (Special
Low Income Medicare Beneficiary) which provides payment
of Medicare premiums, deductibles and co-payments by
Tennessee's TennCare program.
