The next night, Kevin invited Christina to a fancy french restaurant. After what seemed like hours of shopping, Christina finally found an outfit she new was perfect. A black silk spaghetti strap dress that came about 4 inches above the top of her knee. She looked really nice, and when Kevin got to the house to pick her up, it was clear he thought so too. They drove off in his car, and when they got to the restaurant, there was two glasses of champagne waiting at their table for them. When it was time for dessert, Christina ordered
creme brulee. When Kevin saw it coming out the door of the kitchen, he said to her,
"You know, Christina, there is something I need to ask you."
"Yes, Kevin"
By this time, the dessert was sitting on the table. Kevin scooted it towards her and said,
"Will you marry me?"
Christina looked down at her dessert and noticed the diamond ring sitting on a mint leaf on top of it. Her eyes began to water, and Kevin handed her a black satin hankerchief from his pocket.
"O don't cry baby" he said quietly.
"I can't help it, I just got engaged," she returned. "So is that a yes?"
She just nodded.
"I love you so much, Baby" he whispered. "I love you, too," she whispered.
They left then, holding hands and not bothering to eat dessert. They drove back home, Christina walked in the
door and started shrieking. Melissa, Faith , Joy and I
all went over to see what was the matter. "Kevin just proposed to me!" she shrieked excitedly, flashing her ring at us.
"Ooh, that is so great!" we all exclaimed. "Well, now 4 of us are getting married," Faith observed.
"Well, I just want to let all of you know that Brian and I have set the date for February 14, Valentines Day of the year 2000," I told them.
"Ooh! That is SO romantic!!" Faith squealed.
