Chapter 23 CHAPTER 23
The next night...
We were planning a cookout for tonight because it was the last night Faith and I would be here. At 6:30,
all of the guys, Joy and Melissa came over. We played a few games of softball and then ate dinner. After we were done and all the dishes were clean, Brian and I drove to the beach in our little rented red convertible. We got out and were walking along the beach, holding hands. In our free hand we were carrying our shoes. Our toes were in the surf. The silence of the night was amazing.
"I promise I won't even look at another girl while you are in North Carolina. After the tour is over, I will come stay in North Carolina, and we can plan the rest of the wedding," Brian said softly.
"Be thinking of who you want in the wedding," I told him.
"I'll email you every night, and I'll call you every Friday night at 10:00, no matter where we are, I promise," Brian said.
"I love you so much," I whispered, trying not to cry. "I never knew it was possible to love someone this much; even though I have only known you a few weeks, it's amazing. The first time I saw you, I fell head-over heels in love with you. You can ask any of the guys. All I could talk about was You. I wished so bad that I had given you my number, or gotten your number, and when I saw you the next day, I was elated."
he told me.
"That is the sweetest thing anyon has ever said to me,"
I whispered as a tear trickled down my cheek. We stopped walking, Brian turned towards me and kissed away the tear.
