As the Pioneers started there trek from all across
the United States and from all walks of life. They
were determined to make there way across the land,
little did they know that the trek would be costly in
the lost of life and hardships they would endure.
There determination was spawned by the discovery of
gold in the West. There encounters with the Indians
and outlaws,as there was no law at that time along the
frontier,were abundant.
As they crossed over the deserts, with little
water for miles, and the mountains having to face,
the bitter cold, that they weren't totally prepared for.
The swollen rivers that also claimed many lives.
But they endured and many made it, and to them we
should be thankful, as that is what helped to build
such a strong Nation today.
