Born August 10, 1968, to Shirley & Gerad Bivins, Michael was the youngest child of two... Raised in the local district of Roxbury, Massachusetts, Bivins along with New Edition gained instant success with such hits as "Çandy Girl", "Pop Corn Love", "Çool It Now", and "Mr. Telephone Man..."

Years earlier before the #1 hits and platinum records, Bivins formed New Edition with Ricky Bell and Bobby Brown... The three, often upset at having little -- and many times no money at all decided to perform locally and earn money for it...

But never did Bivins, Bell, or Brown expected the group they formed in 1978 to become the most influential R&B act in the '80's & early '90's... Neither did they expect New Edition to go on and completely change the course of PoP and R&B music...

With Ralph Tresvant and Ronnie DeVoe joining the group, New Edition exploded onto the music scene with the #1 R&B hit single "Candy Girl"... From there, the hits were endless and New Edition became PoP and R&B superstars...

In '87, Bivins discovered "Another Bad Creation", who's debut album quickly topped the R&B charts -- selling over 1.4 million copies worldwide... Bivins managed the group and turned "ABC" into pre-teen superstars...

After the success of "Heart Break", Bivins teamed up with Ricky Bell and Ronnie DeVoe to form the R&B -- Hip-Hop group Bell Biv DeVoe...

In 1990, BBD released "Poison"... "Poison" spawned a number of Top Ten Hits such as "Do Me", "When Will I See You Smile Again", and "B.B.D. (I Thought It Was Me) and went on to sell over 4.2 million copies worldwide...

BBD, along with Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant, and Johnny Gill dominated the PoP and R&B music charts in 1990...

In '91, Bivins continued to discover new talent when he started to manage four young men who later became known to the world as "Boyz II Men"... That same year, Bivins started The East Coast Family, which consisted of "ABC", "Boyz II Men", "MC Brains", and a host of other musical artists...

In '93, Bivins returned with BBD to release "Hootie Mack"...

In '96, Bivins rejoined Ricky Bell, Ronnie DeVoe, Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant, and Johnny Gill for the long awaited New Edition reunion album... That same year Bivins discovered "702", who toured with New Edition in '97... Bivins also discovered "Jagged Edge", "Pee Wee All - Stars", and the "Transitions"...

Bivins has since started Biv 10 Records and is currently working on production for the new BBD album, which is expected to be out later this year...

When it comes to discovering and managing new acts, there's no one in music today who does it better than Michael Bivins!
