Great valleys, great views before me
A good life...a joyous one
Yes, many have come before me
I for one only wish one day
And if part of my humanity remains my sanity...
I will just take to this heart of mine
Simple as it may seem to most
Through my thoughts...
I give you today...
I talk about things that have been
However I sometimes forget
What I was taught...what was seen
Experiences seen before me
A war, a generation
Goes way before me
A talent, a prodigy stands before me
I have these things all around me...
And they look at me...they teach me
A life before me...it seems to me
Asking me to go forth and then
I do so asking old questions
Others did again and again
I have before me...and one that has been
touched many times before by someone...
And many have inspired and been inspired
and carried on about their chosen journey
I can pass on my experiences and stories
Enabling another to again tell them
Of what passed before them this given day
I will continue searching for those who want to listen
to words that cannot be heard...something kind they cannot find...
a tale of hope that passed them by...and this is why
We all need something to remember
Of what others before us and we left behind
That maybe this day this one indeed
I made a difference for all that passed
By my way...those wondering...those in need
These are just possibilities and things
I measure....treasure and hold close
Simple things to most
Are things I hold dear and very close
Lying here as I do this day...
