When it comes to daughters Kendall and Bianca,there's no doubt that All My Children's Erica Kane has completely different feelings for each of them. In fact, love and hate best describe La Kane's feelings for her offspring.

Two Different Beginnings

When Erica gave birth to Bianca (her father is Travis Montgomery),she felt nothing but love for her baby daughter and she set out to be the best mother in the world. She lavished love and attention on her beautiful little girl. Erica and Travis' marriage came to an end and he gained custody of Bianca when Erica had an affair with Jackson Montgomery and he wouldn't lie about it in court.

Erica was separated from Bianca when Travis and his new wife Barbara moved to Seattle and took Bianca with them. Although Erica went to see her daughter often, it wasn't until she was older that Bianca came to spend longer periods of time with Erica. Bianca moved back to Pine Valley when Travis suddenly died. Although things haven't always been rosy between mom and daughter - especially when Bianca announced to the world that she was gay - they certainly have a better relationship than Erica has had with her older daughter Kendall Hart.

Kendall Hart was the daughter that Erica had as a result of being raped when she was 14 years old by her father's best friend Richard Fields. Her mother Mona arranged for the child to be adopted. It wasn't until Kendall was grown that she came looking for her biological mom. The trauma of being raped had been buried so deep in Erica's mind that she didn't remember what happened.

When Kendall first arrived in Pine Valley, Erica was about to marry Dimitri Marick. The discovery that Kendall was her daughter sent Erica reeling,but she tried to cope and understand the mixed-up girl. However,things went from bad to worse between mother and daughter,with both having done things to hurt one another. After headline-making news events involving the two,Kendall left town.

Kendall Returns

Since there was never any love lost between Erica and Kendall, it was a shock when Kendall returned to town. It was even more of a shock that it was Erica who secretly sent her. Bianca's girlfriend Frankie was murdered. Erica feared that Bianca did it,so she confessed and went to trial to protect Bianca. Kendall was a part of her plan to keep Bianca out of jail.

But Kendall didn't arrive in court to help Erica - instead she came to seek revenge on the woman who didn't want her,which Erica knew she would do. Erica was found not guilty,but instead of leaving town,Kendall decided to stay. Erica wanted her gone and did everything she could to make sure it would happen,but so far she hasn't succeeded.

Now,for the first time in her life,Kendall met someone who really cares about her: Ryan Lavery. To make matters even more confusing,Ryan found out that Chris Stamp is his father...Chris is currently involved with Erica.

Tangled Lives

Bianca moved out of Erica's house,but later moved back in...and mother and daughter were getting closer. Although Erica has all this love in her heart for Bianca,she has none for Kendall.

Tragedy recently struck when someone set fire to Erica's house. Bianca,Chris,and Ryan nearly died. Erica blamed Kendall for setting the fire and Kendall was arrested. Ryan is the only one who believes in her innocence. Ryan's belief in the beautiful young woman is driving a wedge between him and his father,but Ryan won't give up on Kendall.

While Erica continues to love Bianca more than life itself,she's just as eager to see Kendall in jail. Will Erica get what she wants,or are her daughters more like her than she cares to admit? Both are strong-willed and determined. Bianca wants to lead her own life and make her own decisions. Kendall shows a lot of signs of being just like her mother: focused on getting what she wants and thinking she deserves it all.

Off screen,the relationship between the actors is completely different. Erica's daughters have nothing but praise about working with Lucci. "I love every minute of working with Susan," says Riegel(Bianca). "She's been so kind,warm and generous to me,every single day. I get to yell at her and no one else does!" she says, laughing.

"Working with Susan is wonderful. I've been learning from her and I feel so blessed," says Alicia Minshew(Kendall).

How does Lucci feel about her co-stars? "I was thinking recently how wonderful it is,as an actress,to have two such lovely,talented, and obviously beautiful young actresses cast as my daughters. It is a pleasure to go to work every day and work with them. They are so talented," she says.

Will Erica ever face reality and try to come to terms with the fact that Kendall is her daughter and deserves some love and attention too? Will Bianca find someone to love and will Erica finally accept her daughter's lifestyle? Stay tuned!
