Inspiration

Tante Mattie is always givin' us advice. She's our traiteur, our spiritual healer an' guide, an' she does de job very well. I dedicate dis part of de tour to her, b'cause a lot of de t'ings here are like t'ings she'd say. Dat's jus' de way she is. Some of it is meant to be funny, like de first piece, mais, most of it is meant to be inspirin' an' to make you t'ink. An' jus' for de fun of it, at de bottom of de page is a list of some quotes I found over de years dat I love.

"You don't stop laughing because you grow old; you grow old because you stop laughing." ~unknown

"We need four hugs a day for survival. We need eight hugs a day for maintenance. We need twelve hugs a day for growth." ~Virginia Satir

DON'T QUIT

CLASS

Class never runs scared. It is sure-footed and confident. It can handle whatever comes along.

Class has a sense of humor. It knows a good laugh is the best lubricant for oiling the machinery of human relations.

Class never makes excuses. It takes its lumps and learns from past mistakes.

Class knows good manners are nothing more than a series of small, inconsequential sacrifices.

Class bespeaks an aristocracy that has nothing to do with ancestors or money. Some wealthy "blue-bloods" have no class, while some individuals who are struggling to make ends meet are loaded with it.

Class is real. It can't be faked.

Class is comfortable in it's own skin. It never puts on airs.

Class never tries to build itself up by tearing others down. Class is already up and need not strive to look better by making others look worse.

Class can "walk with kings and keep its virtue and talk with crowds and keep the common touch" (Rudyard Kipling). Everyone is comfortable with the person who has class because that person is comfortable with himself.
