The quest was over and Inuyasha chose Kikyo. Kagome eventually married Hojo and moved away. She inherits the shrine after the death of her mother and moves back with Hojo and their two little girls. Hojo is always away on business and Kagome suspects he’s cheating on her. Inuyasha, who has a tiny problem of his own, comes to investigate. Who will Kagome choose? Is Hojo outta luck or will Inuyasha see how it feels to be the one turned away?

The name of this tale is amusing because Pavlov is the scientist who used bells in an experiment with dogs involving behavior modification. He rang a bell, fed the dogs and soon they began to drool just at the sound of the bell. Duh One can only assume he never had a pet as boy but anyway this was a big deal back in the day.

In the tale Inuyasha is always used to Kagome being dependable. No matter how big the rejection or how what he’s done with Kikyo he can always come back to Kagome. Like ringing a bell and getting trained response, she always stays. Another, and funnier, take on the name is the image of a drooling dog. Now why would a certain Inu-hanyou be drooling? Guess you’ll have to read to find out.

The Ransom of Red Chief is mention briefly in the story. It’s a movie about a little rich boy. These poor crooks kidnap him and hold him for ransom.

Their note says, “Give us $10,000 or we will keep the kid.” The boy’s parents answer the ransom note with demands of their own. “Give us $10,000 or we’ll let you keep him.” The kidnappers weren’t puzzled for long because the boy was so horrible they ended up having to pay his parents to take him back.
