The Tigers split a pair of games in the Chalmette Holiday Classic losing to John Ehret 58-54 and closing out the tournament with a 73-57 win over Northshore. Paul Holmes, coming back from an eye injury against John Ehret, led the way for Slidell (11-4) against Northshore with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Lyndon Butler was named to his 3rd All-Tournament team on the season and was joined on this year's All- Tournament team by sophomore Cedric Cooper. The Tigers are currently ranked 3rd in the New Orleans metro area by the Times- Picayune and 7th in the state by PelicanPreps.com. The plane leaves Sunday morning at 10 AM as we head to Winston- Salem, North Carolina for the Frank Spencer National Holiday Classic. Slidell 74 - Salmen 62 - Sophomore Cedric Cooper's 19 points paced the Tigers to a 74-62 win over cross-town rival Salmen Friday night at Salmen. Slidell (10-3) continued to shoot the ball well draining 10 three- pointers on the night. The Spartans (5-7) were led by Jeffery Lewis' game high 21 points. Nick Johnson, Carl LaRosa and Paul Holmes each joined Cooper with double figures on the night scoring 14, 13 and 12 respectively.John Pichon, saddled with foul trouble for much of the game, scored 8 points, all in the second half, before fouling out late in the game. Senior point guard Lyndon Butler chipped in with 6 points on 2 timely first-half treys. The Tigers are looking forward to meeting John Ehret, currently ranked #2 in the metro area, Tuesday night in the second round of the Chalmette Christmas Classic. Slidell received a bye in the first round because of exam week. Ehret will face St Bernard in the first round Monday night.

Reserve Christian 115 - Slidell 108 - Demond "Tweety" Carter dropped 50 on the Tigers as the nationally ranked Eagles from Reserve Christian ran their record to 17-5 with an exciting 115-108 win over Slidell in front of a packed house in Slidell Monday night. There were a total of 32 three-pointers made by both teams in a wild and wooly affair which was back and forth all night. The Eagles jumped out to a quick 8-0 lead before Slidell's Carl Larosa hit his first trey of the night on his way to 21 points and the fireworks started from there. Senior guard Nick Johnson had a career high 27 points on 9 treys. Senior forward Paul Holmes matched Johnson's 27 points and chipped in with 8 boards. Senior swingman John Pichon recorded a triple-double for the Tigers with 20 points, 14 rebounds and 13 assists. Senior point guard Lyndon Butler had an outstanding game as the Tiger quarter- back with 10 assists and 6 steals to go along with his 2 points. Sophomore guard Cedric Cooper came off the bench with 8 points in a key reserve role.

Slidell 69 - Bonnabel 48 - Slidell used a 18-5 run to start the second half to pull ahead enroute to a 69-48 win over the Bruins of Bonnabel High School Saturday night in the Championship game of the Redeemer-Seton Invitational Tournament. The Tigers (9-2) were led by Tournament MVP John Pichon's 19 points. Sophomore guard Cedric Cooper came off the bench to score 13 points. Point guard Lyndon Butler was also named to the All-Tournament Team.

Slidell 103 - St. Bernard 77 - Paul Holmes had a monster night for the Tigers posting a double-double with 20 points and 18 rebounds as Slidell defeated the Eagles from St. Bernard 103-77 in St. Bernard. Holmes and the Tigers raced off to a big first half lead and was never seriously challenged as they ran their season record to 6-2 with the victory. John Pichon was the leading scorer for Slidell with 22 points. Carl LaRosa chipped in with 19 points.

Slidell 56 - Sarah Reed 44 - The Tigers run their record to 2-1 on the young season with a 56-44 win over Sarah Reed in the opening round of the battle in the parish holiday classic at Chalmette High School. John Pichon and Paul Holmes led Slidell in scoring with 15 and 13 points respectively. The Tigers were forced to play a half-court game most of the night but responded with 6 treys in the game. Slidell will battle the Eagles from St. Bernard tonight in round 2 of the tournament. Game time is set for 8:30 PM.

Denham Springs 89 - Slidell 79: The Tigers fell to 1-1 on the season losing in their home opener to the Yellow Jackets from Denham Springs. Denham Springs broke out to a 16 point halftime lead and helf off a furious 4th quarter rally which saw the Tigers cut the lead to 6 with 3 minutes to go but held on for the win. The Yellow Jackets (2-0) were led by All-American and LSU signee Tasmin Mitchell who recorded a triple-double with 27 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. Slidell hit 11 treys on the night and was led in scoring by senior forward Paul Holmes' 25 points. John Pichon and Carl LaRosa chipped in with 22 and 19 points respectively.
