Stations 74/75 - Avondale VFD

Avondale, LA is most famous for Avondale Shipyards even though the shipyard is not in Avondale. The Avondale community is comprised of primarily residential and commercial, but some oil fields and oil storage battaries are in the area. Avondale VFD has two stations, one on US-90 and the new main station on South Jamie Blvd. Avondale boarders Nine Mile Point, WKB, and Bridge City.


The Avondale Volunteer Fire Department operates this 1997 Ferrara that is housed at the new station on South Jamie Blvd.

Engine 748, a 1981 Grummen assigned to Station 74 on South Jamie Blvd in Avondale, LA, is seen here at the small Station 75 just off of US-90. Station 74 is the main station and was just rebuilt in 2002.

A 1996 Ferrara/FL pumper serves as the first out pumper for the Avondale Volunteer Fire Department and is housed at Station 47, their new station on South Jamie Blvd.

One of the few department using midi-pumpers in the district. They are great for congested locations where a small fire is present. This is Avondale Volunteer Fire Department's 95 Ford pumper.

This 2004 Ferrara commercial cab is the latest engine operated by the Avondale VFD located in Avondale, LA. It will soon receive color coded crosslays and its gold leaf number.
