Station __ - Westwego VFD

The city of Westwego is located directly across the Mississippi River from the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans. Westwego is a small town with barge lines, shipping (rail and marine), and heavy industry, as well as residential. Westwego's equipment is primarily E-One. Neighboring fire companies include Nine Mile Point, Marrero-Ragusa, and Marrero-Harvey.

This is one of the Macks Westwego was using back in the mid-80's. Anyone have any information on this truck that was assigned to the station just over the railroad tracks?

Engine 918 is a 1996 E-One. Westwego's pumpers all have the controls mounted in the middle of the engine.

This is one of the longest tele-squrts I have seen. I did not know there was a 75' model as this 1976 Mack CF is. It is up for sale from what I am told.

One of Westwego's newest engines is Engine 947, a 2002 E-One with a 75' ladder. It, along with old Engine 947 the Mack tele-squrt, are housed at the station on Louisiana Ave.
