Station 58 - Dover Air Force Base

I'd like to thank the emergency crew at Dover AFB for the red carpet treatment in my efforts to get the following photos.

The Chief's personal vehicle, a 2003 Mustang GT decked out with gold lettering, blue and red lights in the hood schoop, as well as strobes all around. Probably the fastest chief's vehicle in the whole state.

Truck #4 (P-2) is a 1984 Oskosh and is one of several crash trucks assigned to protect the 30+ C-5's assigned to Dover AFB.

The replacement for the old P-2 pictured above is this 1996 E-One (P-23), one of several newer crash trucks assigned to Dover AFB.

A C-5 taxies by Engine 3 a 1996 E-One P-23. When planes are fueling or running up on the ramp a crash truck is placed on standby as illustrated in this shot.

Crash truck #5 is a 1990 Oskosh and is identified by the Air Force as P-15. This is a monster of a truck to say the least. It is the largest foam truck I have ever come across. What I need is someone or another vehicle in the shot so you can appriciate the enormous size of the truck.

P-23, #6 is a 1995 Oskosh assigned to the main station at the ramp at Dover AFB.

The antique of the equipment on hand at Dover, truck #7 (P-19B) is a 1981 Oskosh that may be retired soon. This truck and a command truck were driven in the Dover fire engine parade.

This 1998 SVI rescue truck is stationed with pumper #8 at the ramp fire station.

Besides protecting the base aircraft, the fire fighters also have the responsibility of guarding all of the bases building against fire. This 1994 pumper is also assigned to the ramp fire station. An identical yellow unit is also assigned here.

Since Dover AFB is so large, there are areas at the base that do not have fire protection provisions such as fire water. Tanker 12, a 1993 International water tanker responds to those type of emergency calls. It is assigned to the ramp fire station.
