This two part episode starts of where the movie left off. Buffy and her mother move to Sunnydale for a fresh start. At school she meets her new watcher and the school's librarian(Giles)and makes new friends. (Willow and Xander) Together they fight to stop the Harvest.
Both episodes are written by Joss Whedon."Welcome to Hellmouth" was directed by Charles Martin Smith and "Harvest" directed by John Kretchmer.
The Witch
When bad things start happening at the Cheerleader tryouts by spontaneously combusting, going blind and losing the ablity to talk, Buffy and her the Scoobys suspect a witch is in their midst. Buffy herself soon becomes the target of a deadly spell as they discover who the witch is. Meanwhile, Xander finally musters up the nerve to ask Buffy out on a date but in the throes of a witch's spell, Buffy's response isn't exactly as he'd hoped.
Dana Reston wrote the episode directed by Stephen Gragg.
The Teacher's Pet
Xander becomes flattered when a substitute teacher show interest in him. While Buffy is alarmed by her.

Never kill a Boy on the First Date
Buffy tries to maintain as much of a normal teenage social life by going on a hot date instead of helping Giles protect Sunnydale from a violent vampire problems. As she's blinded by lust, Buffy ignores the signs of the dark forces going against her. Meanwhile, while Buffy's being romanced, The Master is plotting her death by invoking the wrath of the "Anointed One," a great warrior vampire who is The Master's most powerful weapon against her.
David Semal directed the episode written by Rob des Hotel and Dean Batali.
The Pack
When Buffy, Willow, Xander and the rest of Sunnydale High go on the yearly field trip to the zoo. Xander and some other kids sneak into the quarantined hyena exhibit, but leave in a different way. Now Buffy, Giles and Willow have to find the reason behind Xander's mean behavior and reverse the transformation before it's too late. Meanwhile, Xander's new aggressive self doesn't play well with his old friends.
Charles Martin Smith directed the episode written by Matt Kiene and Joe Reinmeyer.
Angel
While Buffy grows very annoyed with Angel's mysterious live, she can't lie about her growing obsession with him. During all this, Xander is dying because Buffy doesn't have any type of clue about how he feels about her and, as he vents his frustrations to Willow, she knows too how he feels. Meanwhile, The Master is incensed that Buffy has taken the lives of so many members of his family, and he gets a warrior vampires to kill her.
Michael Schultz directed the episode written by David Greenwalt.
I, Robot- You Jane
Buffy and Giles are faced with a demon spirit who has been trapped since the Dark Ages.The spirt is trapped in a book and is unleashed into cyberspace. During all this, Willow begins to fall for a cyperman someone whom she met online. Xander and Buffy become wary of who this anonymous person may turn out to be.

The Puppet Show
Sunnydale High School's yearly talent show serves as a cover-up for murder when Buffy must catch a person (or thing) stealing human organs. Meanwhile, the new principal is a zero-tolerance idiot who forces Giles to be the teacher in charge of the talent show and he also orders Buffy, Xander , and Willow to perform.
Ellen Pressman directed the episode written by Dean Batali and Rob des Hotel.
Nightmares
The world of nightmares and reality join together when everyone in Sunnydale is living out their worst nightmares. Giles is unable to read and Xander comes to school in his underwear , Buffy must unravel the mystery before reality folds completely into the world of nightmares.
Bruce Seth Green directed the episode with the story by Joss Whedon and teleplay by David Greenwalt.
Out of Mind, Out of Sight
Buffy and Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) have to depend on eachother to combat an invisible spirit that has targeted Cordelia and everyone around her. Meanwhile, Angel goes to Giles to warn him that Buffy could be in deadly danger.
Reza Badiyi directed the episode with the story by Joss Whedon and teleplay by Ashley Gable & Tom Swyden.
Prophecy Girl
Buffy wants to resign from her life of slaying when Giles uncovers an ancient prophecy that spells out her awful fate, as the Master's (guest star Mark Metcalf) ascension from the Hellmouth draws nearer. As the earth begins to crack open, Xander , Willow and Cordelia face an army of demons and the prophetic end of the world. Meanwhile, Xander finally asks Buffy to the prom which doesn't turn out too well.
Joss Whedon wrote and directed the episode.
