Matthew is lucky to have his big brohter Aaron. They completely adore each other and Matthew is trying to follow in his footsteps. He asks to potty like Aaron (standing at the toilet), but never with success. I am happy to see that he recognizes he can do things like Aaron.
Aaron began school this past year attending pre-school. He is a very smart little guy for his age. He is going to be tested for gifted and talented later this month. He can read the names off all the kids in his class so he is the teacher's helper for passing things out in school. He loves the weather. He second favorite station is The Weather Chanel. His first is still the Cartoon Network. He is understanding some US Geography, so he will point out certain states on the map and pretends he is giving the weather forecast.
We were forced to evacuate for Hurricane Lili in September and he remembers this very well. He loved staying in the hotel with his Auntie Kim who was here visiting from Pheonix. His friends Andrew and Michael were there too. That made things even better of course. He can't wait for the next big hurricane.
One of his favorite movies is TARZAN. If you are hearing the background music on this page, then you might recognize it as Phil Collins "You'll Be in My Heart." It is a wonderful song!!
He finally potty trained at 4.5 years old. We simply told him, he would not go to school until he would go in the potty. I can't believe that worked. He anxiously got on the school bus that first day of school and loves it!! Such a big boy and all of the sudden wants to be a helper for everything, now that he's a big 5 year old.
