Bantayan comes from the Ilonggo root word bantay - watcher, bantayan - the watchtower. Three of such watchtowers are still in existence, one is conveniently situated beside the resort, thus the name Bantayan Beach Resort.
The Beach - where one can take a relaxing swim, view the sunrise and sunset, play beach volleyball, enjoy beach parties, see a concert, unwind by the bonfire and a chance to witness a wedding ceremony.
