Suse Users:
- For Suse, you need to open YAST, "Network
Devices," "Network
Card," "Add," Select a "Wireless" device type, and under "Module Name"
type "ndiswrapper" (minus the quotes). This will point Suse to
your ndiswrapper driver you've just installed to support the wireless
hardware. (note: hypertext links are screenshots I hope will help
you, though you might have to zoom in on some) Here is an example.
Click "next." Now in the second screen, you should also set the
wlan0 to come up on boot. You should start in this
screen. Click on "Advanced" and then "Detailed Settings."
Set the Device
Activation to "At Boot
Time."
This will ensure your wireless card starts at boot. If you have a
wired lan card installed alongside your wireless, I would also go to
the wired lan card, click "edit" and do the same thing as you did for
the wireless card, only select "On Cable
Connection" under
Device Activation instead of "At Boot Time."
Mandrake/Mandriva
users:
- For Mandriva, open harddrake and add a
network
connection. Choose to add a "wireless network." It should
give you the option to "use a driver
installed
with ndiswrapper" or something to that effect. Select your
installed
driver and finish setting up the wireless card in the wizard.
If
you are still having problems, try going to the What
to do next
page.
