Ok...lets install some new software.
First we need to find what we are looking for.
I found out later that searching both name
and the description is much more effecitve.
Synaptic displays search results, software versions
both installed and latest packages.
In this case Firefox has not been installed.
After selecting the package and clicking apply you are asked to confirm installation.
Now the Debian ftp servers go to work!
In 4 min we have found, downloaded, installed and configured Firefox.
I Click close...go for coffee...come back to see
I do have the latest version Firefox installed now.
Log out and back in to update the menus...no need to reboot.
Now if everything was that easy...
With Debian it is!
How do I get Debian installed on my PC?
