Aboriginal Youth Network
The AYN was brought about due to the social and health issues that Aboriginal
youth face due to the break down of Aboriginal Culture in Canada. With this
website, we are attempting to unite youth and bring cultural identity to youth
across the country.
Check
Your Head (CYH)
Check Your Head (CYH) is a youth driven organization located in Vancouver. CYH
educates and organizes young people to become active on issues such as labour
rights, the environment and free trade as well as corporate threats to
democracy, all through the framework of understanding economic globalization.
Cyberschoolbus (United Nations)
The United Nations Cyberschoolbus was created in 1996 as the online education
component of the Global Teaching and Learning Project, whose mission is to
promote education about international issues and the United Nations.
Each One Teach One
Each One, Teach One (EOTO) is a career mentoring program for black youth who
would like to be matched with successful professionals in a specific career.
Imagination Boulevard Learning Society
This website is a portal that promotes multiculturalism, interracial
relationships and ethnic diversity in the lives of teens.
Kesri Ribbon Project
Founded in 1998, the Kesri Ribbon Project is a volunteer not for profit South
Asian Youth Initiative based in Toronto, Canada. The Kesri Ribbon Project is
dedicated to providing leadership and inspiration by creating a foundation of
support systems for youth by youth and encouraging youth volunteerism.
National Inuit Youth Council
The National Inuit Youth Council (NIYC) was formed in 1994, at the first-ever
National Inuit Youth Summit, held in Kuujjuaq, Quebec. The council, which is
made up of representatives from each of the six Inuit regions of Canada,
represents Inuit youth under the age of 30.
RedWire Mag
An online magazine by and for Aboriginal youth.
Supporting Arctic Youth (SAY)
Arctic Canada is home to the youngest population in Canada. It's SAY's goal to
provide youth with information on educational and career strategies using
Internet communication tools.
Taking It Global
TakingITGlobal (TIG) is about encouraging young people to believe in themselves
and their ability to make a difference in the world. This not-for-profit
initiative creates environments, both virtual and physical, where people are
exposed to new thinking, a diversity of voices, and new opportunities.
Voices of Youth (UNICEF)
Voices of Youth has been developed as part of UNICEF's 50th Anniversary
celebration. Through Voices of Youth, young people can take part in an
electronic discussion about the future.
Youth Action Network
YAN (Youth Action Network) is dedicated to helping youth become more informed
and actively involved in order to move towards a just and sustainable society.
The main functions of YAN are to provide information and promote action.
Youth Against Violence and Racism Resources
In 2000, the Kitchener-Waterloo Multicultural Centre partnered with Catholic
Family Counselling in working with a Grade 7/8 class to explore non-violent
alternatives to anti-racism. They ended up putting together an anti-racism video
for other youth their age.
Young People's Press - Equality Today!
Young People's Press is a national news service for youth. Its mandate is to
give young people a voice. YPP articles have appeared in more than 220 daily,
weekly and monthly newspaper.
Youth on Racial Harmony
In celebration of the March 21 International Day for the Elimination of Racial
Discrimination, LUSO Centre, the Community Organization on Race Relations and
The London Free Press sponsored a contest asking London and area youth to design
posters depicting a world without prejudice.
