A chronic ongoing headache: computer problems. I note through all these communication objectives, the one thing in common is the continual headache of computer problems that are always out of my control. It's amazing I able to accomplish anything. As a good project manager I always found something else that needed work while waiting for computer restoration. I found the computer problems annoying and frustrating yet always used my time well. When something came to a grinding halt, I always found a work-around, or at least found something to work on that did not require the resources I wanted at the moment.

I don't know if other universities were better in their computer up-time. I did know that Drexel was completely useless. I had to buy my own computer because when I entered everything as MAC and this made no sense considering I was in Computer Science and most businesses use Microsoft/Intel and not MAC. The reason for MAC at Drexel was simple. MAC was donating the computers to the university in order to promote MAC and the university was glad to receive a free hand out versus having to equip the entire campus with IBM. What I did not know was that Information Systems which had its own building somewhere was all IBM equipped. The number one problem at Drexel was everything was a big secret. It was extremely difficult to find out what services and equipment was available to students because information was not freely shared. Every student was out to get a "one up" on the next guy so everyone kept everything to themselves and shared nothing with no one.
