There are all kinds of style guides out there on the Internet; practically every discipline has one that they follow. Shipka is an Adult Play Theorist. Adult Play is a barely studied area by academia and with the advent of the Internet, the division between work and play is beginning to blur, once again. The division between work and play occurred during Victorian Times. The thought was play was for children and even for children, play was for the purpose of exploring and practicing for adulthood. Hence, child play was a deadly serious matter for preparation of becoming an adult and a productive citizen.

With the emergence of the Internet, as with all technologies, at first the technology tells us as consumers what to make of it and then with continued use, we as consumers begin to feed back to the technology what we make of it and how it should be used. It is now 2014 and the Internet really became commercial with the release of the first GUI interfaces back in the early 90's. As consumers and with a 24/7 Open Office, the separation between work and play becomes more of a fog than a huge divide.
