I continue and finish my recording of the two dining spaces: The Commons and The Coffee Shop. What is driving the recording was the thought of a coffee table book I had seen of my hometown, Westbury, Long Island. This book was a collection of photographs with descriptions of places in Westbury through several decades of time.

If I had stuck with the premise, although my history would not be doing a great deal of work, if I donated the history to the Shipka Archives, another historian in the future could continue the project. My history would only be the first chapter of the history. New historians would then continue the project where I had left off. This may have made for a rich history of the UMBC dining spaces provided that other historians thought that the project was worth continuing.
