| Now then, you begin this experiment by having at least ten giant magnifying glasses, each smaller than the last. Then place the single biggest glass directly in front of the sun(you could use a different star, but the closest alternative is alpha centauri, and you'd need more magnifying glasses). Then place the next size down if front of the first one, then the next one, etc. until they reach the earth. |

| When the sun shines through the first glass, it is concentrated into a smaller beam, which hits the next glass, and is concentrated even more, etc. until finally a beam of light about the size of a car will contact the earth, thus resulting in the image to the right. Maybe. I honestly think it will just incinerate whatever it touches, but a mushroom cloud is so much cooler. And it could happen, why not? |  |
