Moon Shadows By Joel and Kathryn LeBlanc Author's Notes: PART Four "I will rise, I will return The phoenix from the flame. I have learned I will rise You'll see me return Being what I am There is no other troy for me to burn You should have left the light on, Then I wouldn't have tried. You never would have known....... "Jedeite, you're playing with fire." Laughed Selenite, floating above his head and laughing at him in an annoying way that reminded him of Zoisite. He ignored her, and watched The face of the one of the new scouts of which he was not familiar with, Sailor Jupiter in her mortal form, talking with a man in white hair and glasses. "You think that's going to help, you're playing with fire." she teased again, in her annoying cat like purr voice. He frowned and glared at her. "If you're not with it you're against it, Selenite. Do NOT question me." She threw back her head and shrugged, mocking his anger. "Yeah, sure." He frowned and knew why Wolfenite and her would always argue and bicker. Speaking of which, Kayite and Wolfenite entered. "I have another job for you." he told them. "Where this time? Another cat chase or is it a real battle?" Kayite asked. "Nothing is a real battle until this business with sailor moon is finished," he reminded them "This time I need you to make an "unexpected visit" to them, at the scout Mars' temple. I've told you where it is." Wolfenite nodded and then noticed Selenite floating lazily in the air above Jedeite's head. "And take HER with you." Jedeite added. Wolfenite seemed reluctant to agree. Jedeite didn't blame him. But despite her annoying personal qualities, Selenite was a rather adepted and skilled fighter and rather valuable to the success resultant of many of the staged-fights which were required to make the shadow crystal stronger. Inside his crystal ball, the small gray shinning crystal, almost identical to the Moon crystal, except for it's color and gleam, was small and gathering electrically currented energy that had been fused into it. "The energy it is gathering is making it stronger. So far it has been a very beneficial process." Jedeite said with pleasure, admitting the stone that was going to do what Beryl and her Negaverse had failed to do for their impulsions and mistakes. "And after this, you confront Sailor Moon, right?" asked Kayite in a bored cynical tone. "How do you know she'll do what you tell her to?" he frowned. "She will. I don't make the mistakes of the Negaverse." They shrugged. They were all dubious of this. Mistakes can be repeated easily and sailor Moon had been under estimated before. "Now go." he said. ___________________________________________________________________________ Lita sat in the office of Dr. Takehoshi and sighed as she fingered the familiar drapes by his window. The door opened and she rose to greet her old friend and Psychiatrist, but it was not Dr. Takehoshi who entered by a younger man, with white hair and glasses. he smiled kindly at her. "Hello Lita. I'm Akron Initus, and I am going to be filling in for Dr. Takehoshi for a while. He has gone on a short holiday and will return in a few weeks. I will be standing in for him." "Oh." she said and wondered why Takehoshi had not said anything to her about it at all. She couldn't help feeling a l;ittle dissapointed in him because she had come here for years ever since her parents had died in a plane crash. He did he just leave town and not even tell her he wouldn't be here? She looked at the young man with distrust almost. She felt awkward talking about these personal things with a stranger. She wished she had phoned Takehoshi's secretary to say that she was coming. "Now Lita, how are you today?" he asked, sitting down with a friendly smile. he had a faint accent that she had never heard before. Not Japanese and nothing like the French or American students that had briefly come to Juuban High now and then. "Fine." she said, thinking over this awkward situation. He seemed to be able to sense what she was thinking and briefly took his glasses off. "I know you are used to mr. Takehoshi, but I wont bite." he joked and she made herself laugh at it. "Thanks for letting me know." she added. "On Mr. Takehoshi's notes," he said, glancing at the sheet on the clip board in front of him "You've had a few small depressions lately. And this began a few weeks ago." "Ummm...yeah." she said a bit awkwardly "Not often. It just happens sometimes when I'm tired or something." "Want to discuss it? When did these begin?" She looked at his hair. She'd never seen hair that color since they had killed malachite. "Um...well, since My friends and I went to see "Fearless" at a theatre about a plane crash." she said quietly. "I sort of had a dream that night that I was in t he plane and this time I died with my parents." he nodded. "Mmm...I can see the perspective there." he agreed and seemed to make notes. Mr. Takehoshi never made notes. she couldn't help watch and wonder "What does he have to write about for pete's sake!" "Ummm...do you mind me asking this? What do I call you?" she asked. he seemed to find the question humorous. "Yes, silly me. I have forgotten to introduce myself. " "No, I mean, what do I call you? Dr. Initus or Dr. Akron....or?" "What did you call Dr. Takehoshi?" he asked. "What do you think? Dr. Takehoshi." "Exactly." She felt a small sweat drop at the back of her head from frustration. "You're pretty young to be a fill in for a psychiatrist." she commented lightly. he looked up from his note making. "Yes. I graduated at the University of Athens." "Athens? You're Greek then?" she asked in surprise. >he doesn't look very Greek, with such light skin and hair. If his skin was any lighter, with that hair he would look transparent!< "Yes. But I studied Japanese for a long time. It is not bad, is it?" "No. I knew you had an accent, but you could almost fool anyone." he smiled at that and resumed his note making. Then asked her a few more questions. >Like he's known me for years< she thought dryly at some of the questions he asked. But soon enough she relaxed with him because he was open and friendly and didn't look at her like she was some kind of basket case like some people do. "I'm having some coffee," he offered "Do you want some?" "Ummm..sure. No sugar though. Just cream." "I drink it black." "Black! Are you crazy!" she stared at him. he laughed. "In Greece, most people do." he said simply and gave her a cup of coffee. It had a stronger taste than the Instant she usually made. "Are you sure you put cream in this?" she asked "It tastes funny." "No, Just coffee." "Real coffee." "I make Instant at home>" she shrugged and he made a sour face. "Instant? No competition." and put down his cup "Lita, thank] you for your time here today. I have enjoyed talking with you." >Funny thing for a psychiatrist to say< she thought and shrugged. "I am rather new to Tokyo. I was wondering, if it is not too hard for you, to help show me around a little so I can at least find where I can go to buy food and other things?!" he asked "I have only lived in Japan a few weeks and I have just been transferred here from Osaka last week. I do not really know anyone. Or where I am going in the days." She seemed to think this over. "Sure, hey why not? Do you want to go now?" "Yes, thank you very much." he smiled "And maybe we could talk while we are walking...." __________________________________________________________________________ Serena fell on her bed, with a large box of oreo cookies. "I feel so depressed." she sighed, remembering how Rei had been on her back all afternoon just because she had made a mistake of tripping her when she was going to shoot one of those generals in the back with her sniper. "It's Not *MY* fault I'm a klutz!" she sighed miserably, then brightened. "But it *IS* her fault she's a complete witch who has nothing better to do than boss me around!" she sat up and ate another few cookies. "But where ARE these guys all coming from all of a sudden?" she was thinking. "Like, it was quiet for a while and now all of a sudden these general creeps are appearing at us all the time. This was the third time this week." She was walking around the room, with her box of cookies, and walked to her mirror. "Look at these bags under my eyes." she sighed and didn't notice the figure standing by her window, reflected din the mirror. "I'm going to look old and gray before I'm 30 at this rate!" she whined. "What makes you think that Serena?" "Yagh!" she shot around and noticed Jedeite standing there with a grin on his face. Her face went pallid and she pointed at him. "Jedeite! You...no, you're supposed to be dead!" "How do you think that?" he shrugged innocently. "But....but..." she remembered that they had never actually killed him. he had just dissapeared from the scene. "How are you here!" "Watching you act like a cry baby." he laughed and in a still sitting position with arms crossed over his chest, he floated up near her ceiling. "Hey!" she frowned "I resent that! Get out of my room now Jedeite! I'm in no mood for a fight right now." "Neither am I to be honest." he agreed calmly "So I'm going to spell it out for you." "No, first you answer my questions." she said stubbornly "Like what are these creeps doing coming at us all the time! They dodge out hits and the attacks they send us only knock us up and around! Like there's hardly even a battle or something." "We're using your energy." he said simply. "What? Not MY Energy, you CREEP!" she said in protest. "When you fight, we are creating a crystal that draws the energy you give off to try and defeat my generals. The energy you waste is given into the crystal and it makes it stronger and stronger. Soon it will be as solid existing crystal substance that can exist out of the supplimentry energy ball that it grows in. But we need your help." he grinned cruelly. "Like I am going to help YOU! I think years in the dark have done something to your intelligence level." she said at him confidently "You just told me your WHOLE plan and then asked for MY help! YOU'RE really crazy!" he frowned. "Not as simple as that Sailor Moon." and flicked a moth that flew at him. "From now on, my men are going to be rounding you up to throw off some energy for this crystal we are creating. But we want you to make sure that your scouts always lose." "What! Like why am I going to listen to you? Give me ONE good reason?" she folded her arms. "Because I Know who you are, did you forget." he grinned with reserve. She gasped and recalled that he knew who she, Rei, and Darien's identity. Once again, her face resumed a pallor color almost near grayness of shock. "Dear me, do I have the better of you. Should I say check mate Sailor Moon?" he asked in a mock tone of innocence "All right , I will. CHECK MATE, Sailor Moon. I mean...SERENA." he grinned. "You wouldn't dare!" she cried, pointing at him. He went serious. "It's as simple as this Sailor moon, you have your band and I have mine now. They are going to play in the pens for a while, and you are going to make sure that neither one lose or win. For a while. And if you don't......then one less scout or two, is not going to mean much to me. In Civilian form, you are nothing more than girls with long hair." he mocked. She was too stunned to feel angry. Then there was a knock on the door. "Serena? Are you okay in there? Who are you talking too?" It was Serena's mom. "Uh....yah, I am okay." she choked out. She turned around to face Jedeite. "Bye, the way. Do not tell the other scouts about this." and he dissapeared Then her Mom came in. "Serena, it is time for dinner!" "Uh, I'll be down in just a minute." She tried to say. Her mom looked worried. " Well, okay but do not wait too long." She gave Serena a kiss on the head and left. >I am doomed. The others lifes are at stake and I am to blame!< she thought. They do no even know it. If only there was some way I could tell them. _____________________________________________________________________________ Joel's notes: Hi! Hope you enjoyed this chapter.
