They have gained huge insights given EXCLUSIVELY to them by Chris Hutchins, Tom’s PR manager and close confidante for a decade. They have also interviewed a whole host of major figures in Tom’s life: DJ Jimmy Savile, songwriter Les Reed, collaborator Anne Dudley, producer Trevor Horn and members of Tom’s early backing group The Squires.

Plus rien ne l'arrête. Tom Jones, on le sait, n'a jamais eu froid aux yeux, mais là, on croit rêver. Il choisit des classiques de la chanson pop des dernières années et les interprète avec des chanteurs non moins populaires. The Cardigans, Stereophonics, Robbie Williams, Divine Comedy, James Taylor, Van Morisson, The Pretenders, Zucchero et même Portishead, pour ne nommer que ceux-là, partagent le même studio que le chanteur de charme. Tom Jones s'adapte à de nouvelles formes musicales en jetant un regard pour le moins sympatique sur ses contemporains. On est loin de She's Lady... Tom Jones recharge les batteries, il en est essoufflant. À ce jeu-là, on ne peut se tromper, personne n'y gagne vraiment.

Tous les admirateurs de Tom Jones comme moi savent très bien que ce n'est pas la première fois qu'il est essoufflant de la sorte. À mon avis c'est le vrai visage de Tom Jones qui est sur ce disque, enfin. Ceux qui ont eu la chance de voir l'émission "The Right Time" et de le suivre en Grande Bretagne savent aussi qu'il n'est pas seulement "Tom Jones" le gars aux déhanchements sur scène. C'est un bonhomme qui fait toutes les sortes de musique. Quand il chante le Rock and Roll, le Country, le R & B etc..., on s'aperçoit que c'est tout simplement naturel pour lui de le faire.
