Lady

Lady is a black lab mix. We got her when we lived in Cambridge...she was found by my aunt in a trash bag, along with a few others. They were all saved and given homes. Lady ended up with us. Lady was such a well mannered and attentive dog. She loved to play in the yard, and she was very protective of us. At the age of about 9 or 10, Lady became ill. She suffered from some sort of seizural disorder. Medication helped for a while, but eventually stopped being effective. Her condition worsened to the point where she couldnt walk or even move well. We came to the conclusion that I'm sure all pet owners fear...euthanasia. As much as I hate the idea, it seemed to be Lady's best option. We trust our family vet, and they suggested it. So Lady was put to sleep.

Muffy

Muffy is a calico cat. She was i big one like Roxy, weighing in at about 18 lbs. She was a very loveable and talkative cat. Muffy "talked" a lot and was very friendly with the neighbors. She too liked hunting and loved snuggling(and eating of course!). Muffy, at about the age of 12-13, became ill with feline diabetes. She was very sick and had a very poor prognosis. Although it being the hardest thing to do, we put Muffy to sleep.

.

Tasha

Tasha is a long haired mix of angora and another unknown type. He was Mom's baby. He always went to my Mom. Tasha, unlike the rest of the cats, only ate tuna fish. He refused to eat cat food. He, surprisingly, did not hunt. He liked to chase Temple around. Tasha also liked to drink out of the bath tub and sleep in the sun. Tasha was about 16 when he died. Once again, we made the difficult decision to put him to sleep. His body was starting to not function, as a result of his old age. There was nothing we could do to help. He was dying.

.

Blacky

Blacky is a black lab mix like Lady. She was our first dog. Although memories of her arent too clear, I do remember "her". She was such a good dog. She treated Lady like her own daughter. They got along so well. Blacky was very protective of us and was a good watch dog. She was about 16 years old when she wandered off and was hit by a car.

Euthanizing a pet is not something anyone ever wants to do...sometimes it is the best option though. I can honestly say, doing that is THE hardest thing to do. I've taken on the responsibility of it twice, with Muffy and Tasha, and I dont think I'll ever get over it. We loved them all very much and will never forget them.
