Hey! Not much to update on the site, unfortunately, but I do have a bit of off-site news. It would seem the Official Nintendogs website has recently been updated with oodles of content. ^_^ If you haven't seen it yet, I would advise checking it out. Also, only 2 days left before the release of Nintendogs! WOO! Although, I guess it is only fair to note that the "release date" usually refers to the shipping date. In other words, the games will begin their journey to the stores on August 22nd, they will not necessarily reach store shelves on that date. Expect to see it 1-2 days after that in most places, and feel very lucky if you find it on the 22nd!

Assuming I'm not one of those lucky few who has the opportunity to buy the game on monday, I plan on looking into redesigning this website. Yeah, I know it's a hideous eyesore. -_- I CAN design a better site, I was just too lazy to do so when I first made this site. I should be reviewing my HTML skills, anyway. - Blinky Drakkin

Just one more week, everyone! Then we'll all be playing Nintendogs. I intend to keep a blog, although I haven't quite decided where I'll be putting it. We'll see. Also, a little update today. It would seem there is a U.S. exclusive secret breed... the Dalmatian! This is a pleasant surprise, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who was surprised when the Dalmatian wasn't one of the announced exclusive breeds. Now we know why. =) I small update to the "Secret Breeds" part of the Breeds section, and an update to the Media section with pictures of the Dalmatian.

Also, today is the first day of Camp Hyrule! Once again, I'll be there under the name "Blinky" (as if you couldn't guess) so if you see me, be sure to say hi! ^_^ - Blinky Drakkin

New update! I've updated the breeds and media pages with pictures of the Boxer. Also, I've updated the links page with a link to the official Nintendogs website, Nintendogs.com, since it was just recently launched. You might want to check it out to see a couple short video clips, and get some free Nintendogs buddy icons. They're simple, but cute.

Also, those who have signed up for Camp Hyrule should have received their cabin assignments by now. I will be in Cabin 3 with NOA_Mysterious and NOA_DudeLove. Feel free to give me a shoutout if you see me! ^_^ - Blinky Drakkin

Updated! I received volume 195 of Nintendo Power in the mail yesterday, so you can now view the Nintendogs article from that issue on the media page! Next month's Nintendo Power will feature a 20-page bonus Nintendogs magazine featuring information on the different breeds, tricks, toys, etc. If you are am avid Nintendogs fan but do not subscribe to Nintendo Power, you might want to pick this issue up. While I do plan on uploading this to the media page as well, these things always look better in person. Not to mention it's more easily portable, so you can take it and your copy of Nintendogs with you on the go. =) Also, in case some of you haven't notices, some sites, such as IGN, now have screenshots from the English version of Nintendogs, including pictures of the Golden Retriever and Husky! These first pics have also been added to the Breeds page for Real-life to In-game comparison, just like the rest of the breeds. The picture of the Husky and Golden Retriever can also be found uncropped on the media page. - Blinky Drakkin

It seems that yesterday Nintendo sent out emails to many emails informing various people of the opportunity to participate in an "Early Adopters" program of sorts for Nintendogs. These lucky people will receive a full English copy of Nintendogs on August 1st and will participate in chats and discussions on Nintendo's Nintendogs exclusive boards, the Nintendo Kennel Club. These people were apparently chosen at random from among those with My Nintendo accounts who had a registered Nintendo DS and possibly registered games. (The DS requirement makes sense, since it would be illogical to offer this to someone who did not own, or possibly want to own, a DS.) Unfortunately, if you were not chosen and sent an email, then it is too late now. Congratulations to those who were chosen! Perhaps one or two of you might grace us with tales of your experiences with the English version? Hmm? =) Well, I suppose that leaves the rest of us waiting for the official English release on August 22nd. Less than a month to go, everyone! - Blinky Drakkin

Good news for those of you who subscribe to Nintendo Power magazine! In next month's issue, issue 196, there will be a bonus, 20-page, Nintendogs magazine included. For those of you who don't subscribe, but want the bonus magazine, you've now got a heads-up, so you can buy issue 196 from your local News Stand. (Or anywhere that sells Nintendo Power magazine.) Issue 196 should be available sometime around the end of August.  - Blinky Drakkin

New update! After receiving much enthusiasm from the members of the Nintendogs Fan Club, I have scanned and uploaded Nintendogs articled from the 3 past issues of Nintendo Power magazine. You can go to the media page to check out the scans for each of these 3 issues. I will be updating that again when I get next month's issue, which promises to have a full-length article. =) (Though I would also recommend buying NP, as it's a good magazine which covers many great games. Hint-Hint Nudge-Nudge. ;) ) I still have not received any feedback on how this new text looks. =| It's a bit hard to tell if it helps if no one responds! (Again, Hint-Hint Nudge-Nudge.)  - Blinky Drakkin

I was told that the text here was difficult to read against the background, so this update is to see what I can do about that problem. As you can see, I'm highlighting all the text to have black background, if this works out better, I will apply this to the other pages as well. Also, I have noticed that, on my computer at least, the text seems considerably larger when I post the page than it does in FrontPage. I'm thinking about reducing the size of the text to fix this. We'll see. - Blinky Drakkin

I'm back! And I've updated, too! You can all thank NintendogsBanzai from the Nintendogs Fan Club Forum for that! She gave me permission to use her Jack Russell Terrier pictures here on the site. Go to the Media page and check out the 10 new thumbnails to get a look at the Jack Russell Terrier as they look in Nintendogs!

[UPDATE] I have also registered for a free domain name, so now you can either come by this address or http://www.canisnintendae.tk! Also, check out the new Guestbook at the bottom of this page! I'd love to hear some feedback about the site!

And finally, I created a News page for all the older news and updates. If you missed an update and want to see what was done, that's the place to go. The latest news will be displayed on the front page until the next update. - Blinky Drakkin

06/24/05

Nothing new today. Just a little heads up that I will be going on a family trip for the next week, so I won't be able to check my email or update the page until I get home. So don't be surprised if it takes me a while to get back to any emails. - Blinky Drakkin

06/21/05

Added a couple links to the and our first Affiliate, HandHeld World, to the links page! Also, added another question to the Gameplay section of the FAQ. - Blinky Drakkin

[UPDATE] Added another website to the Links page under affiliates! This time it's a German Nintendogs site, created by Tomy! Also, I added pictures of each breed as they look in-game to the Breeds and Media sections. (The exception being the Jack Russell and 3 US exclusives.) - Blinky Drakkin

Canis nintendae has finally launched! After a week of nit-picking over the content of this site, I've finally gotten around to putting it on the web! Enjoy!

Note to visitors! Have you recently imported the Japanese version of Nintendogs? Want to write about your experiences with your very first puppy and have it posted on this site? Then send me an email! Share your experiences with other Nintendogs fans! All you have to do is write about your Nintendogs experience. Need some ideas on what to write? Try checking out the April archives of Puppy Times Blog. (Look in the April Archives.) I reserve the right to edit any submitted content for spelling and grammar. (But that doesn't mean you shouldn't go over the spelling and grammar first, yourself! =P ) Thanks! - Blinky Drakkin

[UPDATE] Whoops! The only links that were working were the Media section and the Nintendogs Fan Club. Darn case sensitive links... Well, anyway, I fixed that up, so it should be working correctly now. (And what's a launch without some problems, eh?) - Blinky Drakkin
