At the London's Capital Radio Awards on Wednesday 9th April 1998, the Lighthouse Family picked up 'Best Group' award beating All Saints, Boyzone to the award. Other awards went to Boyzone, Robbie Williams, Eternal, Texas and M.People.

With an interview with Live & Kicking back in 1996, Lighthouse Family were asked why they called themselves the Lighthouse Family. Paul Tucker said "The family thing, with the soul theme and the lighthouse is a moody thing, it's a combination of those elements. He also added "Lighthouse Family is all about getting the best out of life, you don't know what's going to happen." They were asked how much they liked been huge pop-stars. Paul went on to say "It's fantastic! I've always wanted to do this, now I have the opportunity, because they was a time when you'd have to work for a year on night-shifts and all the time god sends to buy a small piece of musical instrument. Now we don't have to worry about that, it's good!"

Paul Tucker and Tunde Baiyewu's brand of tune-laden soul has been taken to heart by the specialist black music community as proved when the band won several accolades at 'The Black Music Awards' last year. Respect was also shown by the music industry as a whole earlier last year for great song-writing and performance, when Lighthouse Family received three BRITS nominations and 'Lifted was put forward as 'Best Conterporary Single' at the song-writers 'Ivor Novello Awards'.

On the 'Chart Show' Lighthouse Family's new single 'High' was played as it rocketed to number five in the charts. The Chart Show commented "Paul certainly aimed high with the new album - he drew up a mental list of the best British albums of all time to give him inspiration."

Paul Tucker from the Lighthouse Family added "We wanted to make a fantastic record, our own Sgt.Pepper or whatever. It's that challenge that keeps us going."
