TPM Facts
TPM (Toledo Polkamotion) originated in 1983 and is celebrating 15 years in the Polka Music field. Since its beginning, TPM has made
waves with countless polka fans across the United States and Canada.
TPM, consisting of Ted Lange, Jeff Mleczko, Eddie Siwiec, Michael Tylinski, and Joe Zalewski, bring a combination of youth and experience to the Polka Music scene. Through its renegade style and versatility, TPM has created a distinct sound all of its own. TPM is at the forefront of bringing progressive polka music into the mainstream. Whether playing traditional or progressive
polkas, TPM is known for energizing its audience. TPM is entertainment.
To date, TPM has eighteen (18) recordings available and is planning a new release for 1998. The recording is entitled "No Illusion" and will be released on Sunshine Records of Buffalo, New York. TPM has gained nationwide recognition with its recordings and live performances. In 1991, TPM was honored for the recording "Grand Illusion", as they received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Polka Recording. The Grammy is the music industry's most prestigious award and is presented annually by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. TPM has received numerous awards from the United States Polka Association. TPM has three times received the honor of U.S.P.A. Band of the Year. Last year, TPM was awarded the 1997 Lake Erie West Peoples Choice Award for Favorite Ethnic Entertainer. Most recently, TPM has been nominated for two 1998 Peoples Choice Awards,
Favorite Ethnic Entertainer and Favorite New Recording.
From Polka Festivals to Las Vegas to the Howard Stern Show, TPM's overwhelming success and recognition in the Polka industry has given the group the opportunity to make appearances throughout the country. In 1998, TPM's travels will take them through 22 states and Canada. Watch out for the 1998 TPM 15th Anniversary Tour.
