Haiku

Haiku is an unrhymed Japanese form of poetry. The poem is one complete thought about nature. It has 3 lines of about 17 syllables. The first and last line has 5. and the middle line has 7 syllables.

The wolf leaping through
the pile of golden brown leaves
looked like soaring winds.

The clouds so fluffy
and white gliding in the wind
above the mountaintops.

The baby redwood
was almost as big as an
adult pine tree.

The bear's paw skimmed through
the river as he snags
a trout in the mountains.
