Personal Stuff and Links (in no particular order)

U.S. Army Yes I'm a veteran and I am proud of that and that I did volunteer. I was MOS 11B; Infantry, toward the end of the Vietnam era. Basic training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Polk, Louisiana.
"The Garrel Page" - Garrel, Germany - a little town on the flat, humid plain south of Oldenburg, not far from where I was stationed. It became a focal point of social life during my tour. Friendships from this time (over 30 yrs ago!) have been maintained up to this day.
Pestalozzi Gymnasium - located in Herne, Germany. Where I spent my year as a Fulbright Scholar. I probably should post some pictures here, shouldn't I?
Universität Regensburg - back in days of yore, this was my year of study abroad in the historical city of Regensburg, Germany on the Danube River. Hey kids! Did you ever live in a dorm that had coed bathrooms (sorry "Ally McBeal TV show" you weren't the first) and showers, its own bar and a beer vending machine in the lobby? Yes, college life is a little bit different in Germany.
Deutsche Bahn AG - The German Rail web site with an outstanding schedule engine. I LOVE train travel, especially in Europe
National Park Service - I worked as an archaeologist in five parks in the Rocky Mountain Region of the National Park Service. Click here to see some pictures. "Raiders of the Lost Ark" it was not, but it was very interesting and I was able to work outside in wilderness areas and get paid for it! I should note that this work was archaeological survey and artifact recovery. Partially because of the notorious Graham/Rudman Act this came to a premature end, but that led to graduate school in yet another direction.
University of Nebraska-Lincoln - My alma mater and a former employer. Click here to see a picture from during this time (yes, once upon a time my hair was black!)
Bacone College - Muskogee, Oklahoma - An historically Native American college (and actually the oldest continually operating institution of higher ed in Oklahoma), where I worked as Director of Admissions. They have made some major changes since I was there (a number of which I suggested while I was there - that's ok; just as long as they finally happened). Click here to see a little bit of this place.
Southwest Missouri State University - Springfield, Missouri - Another former employer. Explore the links & see why Springfield is more than just the "gateway to Branson Missouri," the self-proclaimed birthplace of cashew chicken (!), a place on the famous Route 66 highway and the hometown of actor Brad Pitt and alma mater of actor John Goodman ("Roseanne").
Harvard University - I worked here as a Fellow for a year. This is the oldest university in the United States. Check out the wide variety of student web pages - you will find them interesting.
The Harvard University Native American Program - This was my Fellowship assignment, housed in a small structure called Read House, built in the late 1700's, across from Gutman Library on the Graduate School of Education campus. Click here to see a couple of pics. Visit their photo gallery.
University of Nebraska Medical Center - Omaha, Nebraska - I worked in this office which dealt with multicultural recruitment and retention, ethnic diversity and equity with all the colleges within the med center.
Nebraska Indian Education Association - (NeIEA) I served two terms as the president of this state chapter of the National Indian Education Association. Our group advocated for awareness and change in the education of Native Americans in Nebraska.
Emporia State University - Emporia, Kansas - This historic, regional university is where I served as Assistant Director, Memorial Union, Multicultural Programs & Services. I dealt with issues of diversity, retention, and institutional multicultural policy development, as they concerned American ethnic minority students.
Oklahoma State University - Stillwater, Oklahoma - This is my current institution, where I am the program coordinator for NABS (Native Americans in Biological Sciences). The actual web site is almost finished.
Civil Air Patrol (U.S. Air Force Auxiliary) - I just rejoined this organization after a multi-year hiatus. They have a significant role in the new Homeland Security mission named Liberty Shield. As a participant in their cadet program, I received opportunities and was exposed to things I never would have had the chance to experience otherwise.
