Dear countrymen,
Dear veterans,
Dear international guests,


In these happy days,
each Soviet person,
each family,
all of our people,
live remembering the unforgettable memory
of May 1945.


It is as if we are re-living that great spiritual inspiration
which the people felt after the long, and horrible war,
knowing the happiness of the peace, which was won
with a difficult effort.


We did not need the war, but when it started,
the Soviet people bravely engaged into the death fight
with the agressor.


Nazis have used the monstrous war technology on us,
they have attacked the Soviet Union with special cruelty,
which has neither measure nor a name.


During almost 4 years, the sound of battles never silenced,
with unseen cruelty, battles which involved millions of soldiers
from both sides.


Unforgettable glory to the Soviet weapons, was brought
by the defeat of the invasion forces near Moscow.


Defence of Leningrad, heroic victory at Stalingrad,
battle for Kavkaz, battle at Kursk - Orlovsk front line,
campaign near Korshun Shevchenkovskiy,
Victorious siege of Berlin, and many more great campaigns,
which forever will be remembered in the history of wars.


Through these difficult times,
Soviet people stood their ground,
they have defended the honour and freedom of the motherland.


They have held the rank of October,
work which which was left by the testament of
Vladimir Illich Lenin.
