Alyson Hannigan as Willow Rosenberg

Willow: "Um, well, i-in a way. I sort of stumbled onto them when I accidentally decrypted the city council's security system."

Xander: "Someone's been naughty."

Even from the first episode, we knew Willow was something special. From "Welcome to the Hellmouth" to "Graduation", we've seen Willow grow from a shy wallflower into an assertive, confident person. And hey, her boyfriend's in the band!

Buffy first befriends Willow after Cordelia makes a disparaging "Glad to see you've found the softer side of Sears" comment. By the end of the first episode, the friendship is cemented. Willow knows about Buffy's slayer status, and her computer hacking skills have come in handy numerous times. Towards the end of the second season, Willow's witchcraft ability is also a useful aide to the Chosen One.

Willow's lived in Sunnydale all her life, the daughter of Ira and Sheila Rosenberg, devout Jews. If Willow wanted to watch the Charlie Brown Christmas Special, she had to go over to Xander's house. But hey, it was worth it, just to see him do the Snoopy dance. Growing up, her best friends were Jesse and Xander. Jesse bit the dust (pardon my pun) in "The Harvest" but she and Xander have continued to be fast friends. Although Xander's oblivious to (or simply ignoring) Willow's long-time crush on him. Yes, he's protective and loyal to Willow, but he never seemed to want a romantic relationship until senior year, the homecoming dance, when they shared an illicit kiss changing in Willow's bedroom. Illicit because of Willow's relationship with man-of-few-words, Oz. Ultimately, Willow chose Oz over Xander, and their relationship survived a rocky period to be stronger than ever. Willow and Oz even "did the deed" in "Graduation Part One".

There's no doubt being friends with the slayer has been a major factor for this high school valedictorian's blossoming. True, being one of the Slayerettes can have its downsides, such as accidently bringing your evil clone from one reality to this one, but for Willow, the positive far outweighs the negative. She's even giving up a Harvard education to hang with Buffy at U of C Sunnydale to help Buffy fight evil, because that's what she really wants to do. All I have to say is Willow, you go girl.

Alyson Hannigan performs the Emmy-deserving (IMHO anyway!) role of Willow.
