"And just who am I?" sneered the man at Holly.
"You're Matt Cooking, my dad's old assistant." The man glared at her and didn't say anything. Instead he got up and left the room, locking the door behind him.
"What's going on??!!" wailed Zac. "I think I missed something."
"Ten years, actually. I was about 3 and my dad was involved in this big foriegn deal with Germany. I don't remember it of course, but I've heard my parents talk about this guy. He was fired off before the deal was ever made, but I guess he felt like he didn't get his part of the deal. "
"But why after all these years would he come and kidnapp you?"
"To get back at my dad, why else?" Holly sighed. "My parents always have a bodygaurd come with me and the one day I don't have one, this happens," she said. Zac's eyes widened and he looked over in the corner. "What is it? What?!"
"Duh, the phone!" They looked at each other and started squirming to get untangled. "Let's... just try to... move over there," Zac grunted. They inched over towards the phone and just as Zac was reaching for it, the door burts open, with Matt standing in the doorway, holding a gun.
"And what was going on in here?" he snarled. He pointed the gun at Zac. "Well, I could always kill you as an example to her," he said.
"Oh, no, please!" Zac pleaded. "I've got so much to live for!"
"Like what? MMMBop? I've lived off of nothing for the last ten years because of your stupid father." He cocked the trigger. "Bye..."
"PIZZA!!!" yelled the fat bald man as he walked in the room.
"You idiot!" yelled Matt at him. He lowered the gun.
"What, did I miss somethin' boss?" the man said. He looked at Zac and Holly and then at the gun in Matt's hands. "Oh, sorry. Hey, you said I could do the next one! You were going to hit them without me!"
"No I wasn't..." the two stood there arguing. Zac and Holly took the oppurtunity to get the ropes untied and Zac sprung up and smashed the hot pizza box in the mens faces. The steaming pizza burned into their skin and they both shouted and clawed a their faces. Zac grabbed Holly's hand and they scrambled out of the room. They had only rounded the corner of the building when they saw the men chasing them.
"Faster!" said Zac. They were almost to the door of the building. The heard the men's footsteps getting closer. Zac and Holly sprinted to the door and threw themselves on it. It didn't budge.
"It's locked!" Holly said exsaperatly. They looked around for another way out. She spotted a small window on the other side of the building, that was about 8 feet high. "Do you think..."
"We can try," answered Zac. They ran through another door and down the hallway that was near the door. The men had stopped back and were arguing on which way to go.
"I bet they went that way, boss," the fat man said.
"Well, if that's what you think then I'm willing to bet that they went the other way!" Matt yelled. "Look, you go that way and I'll go this way."
Zac and Holly had reached the window and were desperatly trying to stack chairs and boxes on top of each other so they could reach the window. It finally got steady and Holly started to climb up first. "You can do it Holly," Zac encouraged. Holly got to the top of the satck and pushed on the window. To her surprise and relief, it opened easily and she started to climb out. She gasped when she saw how high she was. There was about a 15 foot drop to the street outside but there was a dumpster right beneth her, filled with trash bags. "Hurry! I can hear them coming!" Zac whispered. Holly gulped, took one last look down and jumped of the side of the building into the dumpster. She landed on a couple of bags, which softened her landing, but she still felt the breath go out of her. She looked up to see Zac climbing out the window. There were shouts from inside the building and Holly guessed that the men had found their escape place. "Holly, move out of the way!" Zac was ready to jump. She quickly rolled out of the way, just as Zac had jumped down and landed in the dumpster next to her.
"Alright!" Holly exclaimed as she gave Zac a quick hug. "Whew! That was close! Ewww, it reeks in here!"
"Come on, let's get out of here before they get out of the building," Zac said, helping her out of the dumpster. They jumped to the ground and started running. Zac gave a quick glancce behind him and saw Matt and his partner standing at the window yelling at them. They had seemed to give up the chase. "I don't think they're coming after us," Zac said. "I guess the old farts couldn't keep up with us!" They laughed and Zac took Holly's hand. "Well, I think that was enough excitement for a first date!" Holly nodded her head and gave a thought to what he had just said. A date? She smiled to herself and they walked together to the nearest phone booth to call for help.
