"Okay, here's our set list for the show tonight, guys,"said Walker. The Hanson's were in their dressing room before the concert at the Electric Factory. Walker handed them the sheets.
"Wait a minute, why is Yearbook on here?" asked Zac. "We never perform Yearbook!"
" Yeah," agreed Isaac. "I don't want to sing that song."They all looked at Taylor.
" I don't mind singing it," he said. Zac smirked.
"Of course you don't mind. You get to sing it! We never get to sing Lucy," he complained.
"Listen, guys, I'm not the one who makes up these lists. Mercury does. So you gotta sing it, okay?" said Walker. Zac and Ike grumbled.
"I don't understand why we wrote the stupid song anyway," said Ike. "I mean, we've never been to school, so we've never had a yearbook. And who really cares where the heck Johnny went."
"Well, I like it." said Taylor.
" Of course you do. You thought your voice sounded soo cool when we were recording it," said Zac.
" Yeah, what is the label going to do to us if we don't perform it?" said Ike.
" Why do you guys hate it so much?"asked Taylor.
" I say we take a vote," said Zac. "All in favor of not playing Yearbook raise their hands." Zac and Ike raised both of their hands. " Well, it seems to anonamous, Tay." Someone knocked on the door. "Is everyone decent in there?" said a girls voice.
" Who's that?" asked Zac.
" It's Sierra," answered Tay as he got up to get the door.
" Wait, is Sierra that girl that you..." Ike started.
" Yes, shhh!" said Tay.
" Oh my gosh, you found her. Unbelievable."
Sierra walked in the room. Ike and Zac's mouths practically dropped to the ground.
" Hey let's ask Sierra what she thinks," said Taylor.
" About what?" she inquired. " Oh, hi guys, my name's Sierra Hayes." Ike and Zac just shook their heads stupidly. Ike pulled Tay to the side and whispered,
"You didn't say she was hot!"
" Yes I did. You just didn't care," Taylor smirked. Then he said aloud, " Sierra, do you think we should perform Yearbook?"
Sierra thought about it. " Well, it's a nice song and all, but it's kind of weird because you never really went to school and had a yearbook. So, I say don't, I guess." Zac and Isaac started laughing.
"I like her!" said Zac.
" Hmmph," grumped Taylor." Fine, you win." With that, he stalked out of the room. Ike and Zac clapped.
" Was it something I said?" wondered Sierra, who was thouroghly confused. She followed Taylor, who was waiting for her in the hall. " Hey," she said to him. "You can still sing MMMBop instead!" He grimiced and then laughed.
" I guee you're right." He took her hand. " Come on, I'll show you around." He took her into the auditorium area and went up onto the stage, where a few stage crew were still setting up.
" Whoa, this place is huge," she said.
" Tell me about it!" replied Taylor. He showed her his keyboard. " And I'll be standing back here..." she interrupted him.
"Singing your heart out and bouncing up and down."
Well, you just got the whole concert planned out, don't you?" said Taylor. They both laughed." Hey, where's my seat?" Sierra asked. Taylor pointed to a seat front row and center." Sweet! Thanks Taylor, this is like the coolest thing. And the cool thing is you're totally down to earth. Totally. I mean, I didn't know what to expect from you guys, but you guys are so nice and..."
Taylor just grinned.
" And you are just totally down to earth and cool too!" He laughed.
"Hey don't make fun of me!" she pretended to pout. Then she smiled. " Actually, I'm not taking it the wrong way, because I just know it's all true!"
" Oh, and you're conceited too!" exclaimed Taylor. They both plopped down on the seats laughing.
" Hey, it got quiet in here, " said Sierra.
"Yeah, the sound guys left," answered Taylor. There was a short silence.
"Tay, I really did mean those things I said about you guys before." Taylor brushed a loose strand of her hair back.
" I've only known you this short time, but I feel like I've known you forever. I can actually talk to you."
" I feel the same way, " she said. They moved in closer together and their lips lightly touched. After a few seconds, the kiss got stronger and deeper and Taylor put his arms around Sierra's waist.
"Whooo, whooo!" they heard behind the curtain. They broke apart and looked up to see Zac standing there laughing along with Ike. " Oh, I just love young love, don't you?"
Oh yes," gushed Isaac." It's so beautiful." He pretended to wipe away a tear.
Taylor looked embarrassed, but then laughed." Alright guys, you can shut up now."
" I don't know, Zac. What do you think?" said Ike.
"I think it would look great on the official video!" he laughed as he held up a video camera.
" You taped that!?" yelled Taylor. " MOM!"
" Ten minutes!" yelled stage crew person.
" Crap, I have to go Sierra. Sorry," Taylor said.
" It's okay. Good luck!" she replied. He looked at her and decided that this was one of the best days of his life.
Taylor had never played better than that night.
